Does anyone use these little driers ? I have just taken delivery of one this morning from Mr JK
I used it this afternoon as was pleasantly suprised how powerful it actually was for such a small drier!

I've got 3 I think they are brilliant, I carry 2 in each hand and there's no lifting of those heavy snail driers up stairs.

I notice that the chemspec website show it has having twin speeds and six position ! What does that actualy mean as mine is single speed ?

Ps it still doesn't reach to the bottom of my pocket though.

I've got the same one as that it's only got on and off though.
If I had to re design it I'd have a longer electrical lead and I'd wide or flatten the feet as they dig into the carpet albeit easily brushed out it annoys me a bit.

Billy rusell made a video with one but used sliders that small ones that jk sells under the feet, I think that stops that hapening

Yeah I put foil tabs under mine. Bit annoying though. The furniture slidders is a good idea, I have a box that i never use anyway.
Yeah, I agree the lead should be longer.

I've got 2 of these and use them on just about every job, great to cool the room down in this weather aswell :)
I always take a multi plug extension lead in with them which helps with the lead issues, also use them on upholstery aswell just place them on top of each chair when finished cleaning or use 2 on the sofas.

They are light but are we sacrificing faster drying for convenience ? We can't be arzsed to carry a snail blower in as they are toooo heavy ;) so let's get the little dry pod

Basically yes :)
joking aside, you can take two in each hand (4 dri pods) and you can dry two decent sized rooms at the same time while the heavier airmover can only do a strip of carpet at a time.

The best and fastest driers are whole room driers but you'll not get 2 in one hand, it's a trade off if you are low moisture or tm then you need less speed drying.

I think we need to look at how we use them, and how the carpet actually dries.
Whenever possible I place a snail blower in a doorway ( the best option is a patio or French doors ) to blow fresh dry air into the room to replace the moisture saturated air that is hovering over the carpet and stopping the evaporation of the wetness in the carpet.
A dry pod doesn't do this, it does circulate the air in the room.... but not replace it

You correctly mentioned about the saturated air above the carpet. This is called the interface and its about a centimetre of air which reaches equlibrium with the damp carpet, making this area of air 100% humidity. Drying takes place when the molecules from this saturated air start migrating into the air above. This can only occur if the air above is of lower humidity.
By disturbing this saturated layer of air just above the carpet you can really speed up the drying process.
A Dripod does this very effectively as it draws drier air down from above and disperses it in a radius around the machine.
As you rightly say Mike there has to be lower humidity air to enable this to work efficiently. Therefore ventilation is essential especially in small rooms. In larger rooms there is often enough volume of air to absorb all the additional moisture. Room with open chimneys are ideal. Or just open a window.

Dry-pods leave foot impressions, which is a bit annoying.

as I said ealier in my post, Billy russel made a video with the drieaz pods, he used plastic sliders under each foot, but you could just use foil coasters ! Just common sence realy

David, there are more drying problems in this weather than any other. The humidity is extremely high which prevents the moisture migrating into the already moist air.
In Florida, when a house has a burst pipe or flood they have to wrap the whole building in shrink wrap in order to dry it out. Otherwise the humidity from outside just comes straight through the walls.
