Are you new to window cleaning?
You live in a relatively well off part of the country. Work doesn't fall into your lap, well, not often. I have found you just have to keep trying new estates/commercial sites. Just keep at it. It's the old theory: Chuck enough muck at the wall, eventually some must stick!
I've been at it 19 years. I still get lean times, and wonder what to do.
When you go cold calling, presentation is important. Look smart, positive, polite, trustworthy, and ready for work. It's only window cleaning, but people judge you a lot on first impressions, within the first 20 seconds they have formed an opinion on you. Make it a good 20 seconds, with a nice clear, clean explanation leaflet.
If they ask for a quote, take your time, get it right, don't be greedy.
Wish you well

keep at it. This is the best time of the year for you to get more work when the sun is out and it don't get dark till 7.30pm. Most people are home from work at 6pm and on weekend.
I started around at this time of the year. People were crying out for window cleaner but you got to find them and by the end of september I had to turn down work and never look back since. Yes it took me some time to build it up and you will have some bad days but if you stick at it you will find work. Now I am my own boss. Start work when I want. No one tell me what to do and I make more money than I ever did in my life. LIFE IS GREAT ;D

Put an ad in your local parish magazine. Cost me a tenner round here.
There's good work in the countryside and people tend to network more widespread than in urban areas.
If you are prepared to do a good job put on your leaflets that you guarantee your work.
I have guaranteeing my work for the last year and i'm not naive enough to think i do a perfect job everytime but i have only been picked up 3 times and one of those was for a frame. So i presume from that most people won't worry or even notice unless they are smeared.
just keep trying. It will come.
good luck
