Title: puzzled
Post by: Barryy on July 15, 2014, 12:49:57 am
Ok, i'm a little bit slow on the uptake, but for the life of me I can't seem to figure out what connectors are on the other side of the "in" & "out" connectors on the front. I presume that, in the box, there is a hose  coming from the inlet and outlet of the pump, but how is this hose then connected to the inside of the box?

just a guess:

from the pump, half-inch hose.

Then from half inch hose to a hose-tail connector like this:

With the threaded part sticking through a hole cut in the box.

The the black "tap" connector that you can see, (which actually looks something like this:

simply screwed onto the hosetail thread that's sticking through the hole, nice and tight so it doesn't wiggle around.  Those tap connectors have a rubber gasket on the inside face, so when something is screwed into them it forms a nice watertight seal.

As I said, that's just a guess how it could be done.

That looks workable Pete. Any idea where i'd get that hose tail connector, never saw them in any of the hardware type places near me? Thanks mate.
