Has Any One tried this?
I have been Quoted £10+ Vat a week from a company who have a board that they put your business cards into for the shoppers to take.
This is for 2 big local stores and they supply and replenish the cards so £5.87 per store a week .
They only allow ie 1 capet cleaner - 1 plumber - 1 joiner ect.
regards

From my experience, forget it. Nobody will take one. I did a two year deal with a national company in a well known diy store, who i was told were still owned by a national supermarket chain, which they were not.
The rep, who incidentally made the first contact with me, told me that i would be the only carpet cleaner. like an idiot i fell for it. I designed my own card then payed £250 deposit, with another £250 3 months later and so on which as you say works out at £10 + vat on a two year deal.
The rep even told me at the time of signing up, to go to the store and take cards so to get more of your monies worth from the scheme. This i used to do. I had 2 jobs in total in 2 years, and the cheeky b------ds even phoned me up after 18 months to ask me to go into another store as i must be popular due to the number of cards that they were replacing for me, whenin fact i was the only one taking them. I subsequently told em to get stuffed.
Another annoying point is that with a diy store, the rental carpet cleaning machines were still in the store. Before you do a scheme like this, go and stand in your local supermarket, and watch the number of people who go through the tills and don't even see the card dispenser let alone take a card. Also look at the empty spaces in some card dispensers where the empty card slots are filled by the cards of the people running the scheme.
Can i ask if you are a new scheme, as they usually pick on new businesses as they are easy to sell to. What you will also find is that you will not get anything in writing which you could use to get out of this type of contract, it's all verbal.
£10 a week seems attracive, but spend the money on good quality leaflets. For £1000 100000 A5 full colour glossy double sided leaflets printed. Think of the profit for these people. All the have to do is get cards printed for you, pay a commission to the store. They must be laughing their heads off. I think the only reason you are offered two stores is people are getting wise to it. Seriously give it some thought before committing yourself.

Hi
Been there done that 1 job from it, it does not work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! stay clear.

You have been honoured after great research , and discussions with the Supermarket,Doctors Surgery Estate Agent etc you are their prefered Carpet Cleaner. The only one they want.
How could you turn it down.
Keep an eye on these boards see how many people repeat the following Year. Whoops they usually lock you in for two Years.
No do not do it.
After all the warnings I am amazed they bother to call carpet Cleaners.

there not much more than con men!

Well done House Buddies! :)
Everyone that I know who used these advertising boards got nothing at all.
One job....... that's probably a record!
£10 a week for 2 years (usual minimum contract) is over £1000. And I bet you don't pay weekly.
I was given some good advice on advertising twenty-odd years ago, and I think it is still true today.
"Think where you look when you are wanting to buy something. Advertise there. Never advertise in any medium that you don't refer to yourself."
-
The only good place to advertise in supermarkets is the checkouts.
Who does all their advertising at the checkouts, if think its the supermarkets.
People are just looking at the receipts once passed the checkouts to see if the staff have didled them out of a few bob.
-
Thats true, like Hombase/sainsbury's etc, people just want to get out of there once they have their items.
You are hardly going to stop and look at a load of business cards with a piece of 4 by 2 on one shoulder & a bag of cement on the other.

i have had a few beers,
just do it - feel confident that - Catherine Zeta Jones is coming in to your bedroom and giving you the time of your life, no holds barred
then wait for the same amount of work to come in - zilch-
then ( sobering up) - go to court (some 10 yrs ago - with supermarket) - and told you have signed a legal document - just pay it - you will never be lagered - but you will certainly be BITTER
