I had 50k leaflets delivered today and I would be very happy to get 0.03% or 150 customers. Got 15 new custys today. How many calls/custies should I expect in what time frame in your experience.
-
not a right lot more :(
-
50k delivered in 1 day? :o Jeez.
What was the cost of that? Also were they delivered solus or grouped?
-
delivered solo , £3.5k delivery cost and £700 printing cost , im told that it was 40 people delivering in around 5-6 hours 1250 per man 15 seconds per leaflet....
-
15 seconds per leaflet....
That would be terraced houses then?

£3.5k are you mad. Easier buying a round for that. £3.5k would be about £1500 a month x 12, £18k a year.
15 seconds per leaflet. It would have to be terraced houses, all in a line. All 50 thousand of them. I would check they delivered where they said if I was you.
Sorry, its not £3.5k it s£4.2 inc printing. Tell us your joking
-
Not that I cover Surrey, nor got any slots available,, but a canvasser like me would have got 2.1k per month, second clean guaranteed on that cost. Would have taken 4 weeks in your chosen area.
-
Was it jogpost that done them if it was can you tell them to leave flats out ect

There is no way on earth that I could do that.

How far you booked up for now?
£3.5k ouch...

Company's round here charge £20.00 per 1000 leaflets!
Think someone has pulled your trousers round your ankles with that price...
I hope you get a lot of work from it

He lives in Middlesbrough. A terraced house cost £15k, a pint can be had for less than £1.50. It's like Salford, but a lot cheaper.

Rogue, I pay £260 for 5,000 printed and delivered to areas of my choice.
They are sent out with other leaflets not solus.
I consistently achieve 4 enquiries per 1,000, so from your 50,000 I would be looking at around 200 enquiries.
The last 10,000 I did were sent out over a period of a month.
-
Also, I probably get over half the enquiries in the first week but then can take up to 2 months or more.
-
Last time I tried delivering leaflets myself i struggled to hit 100 per hour,.. I was avoiding terraced houses, but that was on estates of normal 3 & 4 bed semis.
4 a minute seems VERY optimistic unless half of them are delivered into the local river,..
-
I am selling a round in mitcham you could have bought. compact and mostly OAP's so they are in, and its well established and good payers.
-
Ohh and I suppose next week would be a good time to go knocking in wallington.
Evil grin mwwaaaa mwaaaa haa

I agree about buying a round but it's not as simple as that.

How far you booked up for now?
I have placed bookings on hold for the last few months, as it's been my experience that some bookings taken many months in advance have been cancelled through change of mind or circumstances.
I'm currently booked through until October with my regulars.

Koopmaster , i dont know what you mean!! lol ;D

I actually live near yarm were house prices are a huge increase from anywhere else in the area!
And the company makes money because they get 4 or 5 leaflets to distribute at once, so if everyone did £10,000 leaflets then the owner would charge £1000...

His were delivered solus. Of course companies can deliver them cheaper if delivered with others, that's not like for like is it?
-
its not down to how many calls you get it all about the money you earn from it 1 call could earn your 2k yet ten may just earn you 100 pounds
you will have to wait 2 months and see how much cash you have made from it , to see if its been worth doing
-
one person can do 100-120 leaflets per hour on mixed but fairly compact residential .
if they say they are doing more they are lying .
they can't possibly charge £20 per thousand , pay people to deliver and make a profit .
i would suggest a lot of your leaflets are dumped .
-
i agree myself i can do around 120 on mixed work, about 7 miles ish before you want to pork it off

Its a propper company that deliver your leaflets... They recently did my uncles business a leaflet drop along with around 6 other leaflets, charging £20 a thousand.
He checked up a few areas and they had all been delivered
-
Your getting confused h2o
His leaflets were delivered solo he said .
If they are delivering six other leaflets along with his then they are getting £140 per thousand .
That can be profitable but £20 per thousand delivered solo will make a loss or leaflets are dumped .
-
Ahhh i thought someone said that no one can charge £20 for the service but i understand now :)
-
Are u crazy 4k gor leaflets you need help mate !

Madness

THIS IS THE ANSWER TO ANSWER THE QUERY.
1 drive clean may well pay for the next 3k leaflets going out and in turn turn a nice hit.

lee pryor did a huge campaign last year or year before with approx 250,000 leaflets im sure after 6-9 months after delivery he had built up a solid round of approx 700 new customers after all the messers etc dropped out he also got extra adhoc work that covered the cost if im right could be wrong there
he had a very good strategy tho with house prices shown on the leaflets so didnt have to go out pricing work
it can be quite a good way of building your business plus im sure over 2 years u will keep getting enquiries them lealfets do have a habit of being popped in the kitchen drawer
-
I think rouge trader is pulling our leg.
If the figures are true then that leaflet drop company has totally ripped you off mate.
p.s. its very unlikely that one of those leaflets are going to to bring in £1000 jobs, more like £10s, £20s etc. Rouge trader seems to only clean windows.
-
ive just done a google search distribution companies charge approx 75 quid per 1000 to deliver solus, a staff member could prob deliver these in 7 hours at £7ph thats £49, so the company is making £26 per thousand x 50, that job is worth £1300 minus usual cost fuel etc
-
You should look at any advertising returning around 7 - 10 times it's cost in order for it to be cost effective. A £4.2K outlay on leafleting should therefore return £30-£40K over a 12 month period.
If he's got 15 houses so far at an average price of say £20 per house then his return is currently £3600..... there's still long way to go in order to make any profit from that campaign.
I did a leafleting campaign a couple of years ago, we were paying £40/thousand with 3 other leaflets on a 10000 print run. It didn't return anywhere near enough to make me want to do it again. :-\

is that the rule of thumb ian with advertising good way of looking at it before making any rash decisions
