Post by: paul13 on July 05, 2014, 11:24:07 pm
Hoping someone can help, purchased this from ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390839567754?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Tried to wire it but cant figure which way wires go already blown two ::)roll

one side has DC+ / DC-
Other side NC C NO

I initially thought dc + - battery positive & negative
Then tried battery nc c
both attempts failed :(

That's the problem with flea bay .
No customer service ,

Pop into your local Maplins .
They are usually really helpful even though you didn't buy it from them !!

DC+ = Battery Positive
DC- = Battery Negative

The above two connections provide power to the remote receiver and should be wired in parallel eg a separate wire for each directly from the battery.

You then need to cut the power wire going from your battery to your pump/flow controller, strip off the ends and put one end to C and one end to NO. This is a break in the wire, so that when you press the remote switch it turns on and off.

Oh an by the look of the ebay listing, you have bought an inching remote, which, as far as I am aware will need you to keep your finger on the red button at all times for it to work. The remote receiver needs to be a self lock to turn on/off like a switch

I got this one, shipped from the UK

This video on youtube will help a little with the wiring

Personally, I would use the C and NC, not NO.

This would mean that the remote is switching OFF (rather then switching ON) the water flow.  The overall effect will be the same, ie you can switch the flow on and off remotely.

Why?

Because if the remote is switching ON the water, and gets damaged, lost, malfunctions in any way then you will not be able to switch on the water flow, and therefore you will not be able to work.

If the remote is switching OFF the water, then if theres a problem with the remote function, the worst that can happen is that your system will function as if it had no remote.  IE you will have to swich the water on and off at the flow controller, the same as you do now.  It will not stop you working.

Just my opinion.

All that's needed is a cheap three way switch from Maplins or Ebay. Middle position is off, one way is via the remote and the other way by passes the remote so the pump runs direct from the battery.
