When a customer pulls a fast one and wants a clean every other month or even quarterly? I normally walk away - do you add a percentage and keep the job?
-
Round it up but roughly 50% on top
-
33-50 percent

Nothing, if a customer isn't honest with me from the start then I don't want to know.
I have a few quarterly that Iv cleaned from when I started up, I don't charge any extra for these
as I don't find them any harder to clean, well to be honest they are all good tippers so maybe that's
why I don't mind.
-
Why are they pulling a fast one by wanting their windows cleaned at a frequency other than monthly?
-
Because they were originally priced up monthly then they start to squirm and look at ways to save money. My round is generally set up for six weekly these days so if they don't like it then normally they can lump it.
This is a commercial job that started with a monthly quote and now they want a bi-monthly and a quarterly quote.

Ah right, yes a lot are asking for a less frequent clean, although funnily enough i've had 2 in the last week that have asked to go from 2 monthly to monthly as they think 2 monthly is not keeping the windows clean enough.
Personally I charge same for monthly or 2 monthly but if anyone wants it less than that I add 50% to price.
-
Eh? You add 50% for a more frequent clean :o
-
No mate, monthly or 2 monthly same price, 4 monthly etc = 50% more

yes and don't sub it out
not that some people sub any work out at all ;D ;D ;D

4 weekly or 8 weekly.
I add 20% for 8 weekly.

4 weekly or 8 weekly.
I add 20% for 8 weekly.
Same here, but 25% (to the nearest pound.

I use a complicated formula which ensures I baffle customers into submission.
I take the monthly price, double it and then divide by 2.
Customers seem happy.

same happened to me, 4 weekly then said do them every 6 weeks, i dont have any 6 weekly but went along, £65.00 for an hours and half work...but if it goes to 8 weekly then the price will increase, as the way i look at it im now on half of what we agreed but more dirt to clean
-
I tell my customers that I price-up on a 4 weekly basis, if the say that they would prefer a 6 weekly clean (which I'm finding a lot do) I'll offer 6 weekly for the same price as a 4 weekly as a 'special offer' for them.
Customer happy...I'm happy :).
8 weekly will be +50% of the 4 weekly price.
I found nearly all prefer the 6 weekly as it sounds like a bargain ;) ;D.

We offer 6-weekly and 12-weekly prices. 12-weekly is 50% higher. Around 2/3 of our customers are 12-weekly. I work quite hard at talking people into 12-weekly cleans. They take a minute or two more than 6-weekly but I'll take that any time for a 50% increase in cost.
I love them all and feel disappointed when I do a day of 6-weekly work, so I don't see it as "pulling a fast one" more as a way to earn far more money per hour.
Downside is that the round has to be bigger, so it takes longer to be full.

On a £10 monthly job I usually add £2 for going 2 monthly which seems only fair as the windows will be dirtier after 2 months and need more cleaning.
