Title: 21litre honda gx390 machines
Post by: drive surgeon on June 27, 2014, 04:38:08 pm
Always used 15 litre machines.  But getting a 21 litre machine soon. Question is if the custys water supply isn't enough to feed the machine pump on the 21 litre machine can you just turn the rev bar down or do you lose too much pressure?   I'm used to running 15 litre machine at full throttle to run the whirlaway. Also getting a mosmatic 21" rotary cleaner. What's it like at full bore with 21 litres? Does it take off?? Ha ha, can you just turn down throttle if using too much water and still clean without making tiger stripes? Thanks guys

Also if I did turn down the revs on the engine would that mean I then needed different nozzles for Fsc?  It's a bit confusing.  Flow vs pressure.

Sort out a water butt to feed the machine then stop as it empties, why buy a powerful machine and not use it's full potential

It's annoying when you have to keep stopping and waiting for it to fill up tho! Great when customers have good water pressure u can always turn the flow down if not

If I turn the revs down won't I lose pressure?

If you turn the revs down you will lose flow.
You will need different nozzles if you use a 21lpm machine. Nozzles are relevant to flow/pressure.
If you are running the machine from a buffer tank you will get the most out of the machine.

Do you have a website?

Why would you have a problem if you have 1400 litres of water in your tanks and a hose feed to the tanks

I use a converted wheelie bin as a tank, and even then I can empty it in less 40 mins with the customers water filling it up.

But yes I have run mine at 3/4 power and you can still rip through stuff with a turbo nozzle

It was around 400, not broke it down yet as i also bought a mosmatic with it so it all came to a total figure of around £1k, it requires 14hp to run it, My Kubota is around 19hp so easily enough power. If I can give you one piece of advice in business it's..... don't fanny around when you need something, just go out there and get it if you need it, get the job done and get earning the money back.... both of them items willl have paid for themselvse within a week so whats the point in humming and ahhing over which pump to buy or at which cost... just buy the best equipment you can and get the job done  ;D

Drive surgeon...They do an igx 440 which is a 14/15 hp, we had one not long back with a 350 bar cat pump on, it was a great tool, also it was single cylinder which I was surprised at, so yes they do mate :)

Kevin, it's 2 men through the summer but not sure about winter yet.... fingers crossed :)
And thanks, hope your doing well too? ;)

Exactly!

Just wondering if you get these deals locally. Cause i never see anything like that on ebay. Like the aquilla machine and the mossy/pump.
Im in the market for a mossy, so if you have some local black market connections, let me know.  ;D

If you use the 21 litre pump at full bore on the 13hp honda at 200 bar and you then turn the throttle down does that mean you need different nozzles if you using less flow? Or does it just reduce the pressure?
Title: Re: 21litre honda gx390 machines
Post by: Kenny83 on June 30, 2014, 10:56:11 pm
The nozzle creates the pressure, revs dictate the flow so if you drop the revs to say 3/4 it may produce around 15lpm, therefore you will need to put a smaller jet in to increase the pressure back up

I do get it but sounds like a ball ache changing nozzles all time depending on what cuties water pressure is like.

Think I will have my whirlaway set for 15 litres like it is now and my new mosmatic set for 21 litres. So you just guess 15 litres on the revs? Turn it down a quarter maybe.

Measure out 15L into a drum, mark it with a pen, then experiment with the throttle until you find the revs that produce 15L and put a mark next to the throttle.

Simples.

or if you unloaders set at 200 bar you can just knock the revs back until it stops returning into your drum?  ;D

Hi carl my air cooled lombardini seems to be knocking out whitish blue smoke when not underload at high rpm, done an oil change today as it was a little high, valves seems ok, it also misses when it does it.... any ideas mate? when I pull the trigger it's fine with no smoke at all, but when I let go it's clear then it starts to slowly appear after about 30 seconds inline with the missing, it becomes gradually more and more... all pump side / unloader is fine, someone said it may be the govenerner?  ;D

It may well be a pump problem - it could be the enrichment / cold start adjustment but it would have to go to a diesel engineer to get it set up. The injectors could also show up like this if they dribble - does sounds like a diesel side issue. Lets us know what you find

I'm going to take it to the local diesel guys this week, it's strange how it only does it when theres no load,,, anyway, I've been messing with it all afternoon and so not getting paid, so it's going to the loacal engineers this week, will keep you posted  ;D

also Chris / Carl ... had the injectors refurbed a couple of months ago with new nozzles in so don't think it will be that so soon?

Cheers lads

I'm not surprised Chris suggested a "crack" test on the injectors
