Feel as if hardly cleaning glass today. Really liked my vikan brushes. Feel as if superlite bouncing on glass n also get those little beads running across glass.

Which Vikan brush were you using? Which Super-Lite are you now using?
-
Red mono vikan 12 inch n think ones i gotfrom you today were dual trim mixed. Sill brush n normal brush. Both black n white.
-
I'm not a great fan of the Super-lite I found you had to put a lot of pressure on it
to get the black bristles touching the glass.
To be honest I don't see why it needs to be duel trim.
-
JSMC i think the standard medium mixed dual trim SL and black dual trim flocked brushes are the best gardiners make (as in scrubbing power).i use both these brushes and the extremes(which are even lighter with fewer bristles).
keep using them for a few weeks and see how you feel about them then.
my red vikan is used for cleaning my van and has been for the last 4 years.good scrubbing power but too heavy on the end of a 25ft pole.
id also recommend getting a few gardiners scrapers with scrubbing pad that fit on your goosenecks.their really good for baked on birdmuck, bee spots etc.
sean the dual trim brushes are much better than single trim IMO as they splay on the glass better and dont "judder"
-
also if you use carbon fibre poles you dont have to put too much pressure on the glass to get a good scrubbing action with the black inner bristles as the poles are very rigid (esp the extremes).i find i dont have to scrub hard on regular jobs unless theres snail trails or birdmuck on the windows.
i must admit the extremes take a bit longer to scrub off snail trails but the lightness more than compensates for a bit of extra time scrubbing over the course of a day. ;)

I'm having exactly the same problem, I love the slx pole, just wish my vikan brush would fit on the end!
-
I have to agree..
I have a few gardiner brushes and also don't like the general feel of the med mixed superlite it just don't sit right to many white bristles or something .. so just sits in my van mostly but I love the extreme brush..
Aerial brush has been the best all rounder I've ever used just a shame it weighs a lot. If gardiner made a brush based on the aerial and as light as the med mixed it would become there best brush ever.
-
The lightness of my superlite brushes is great, but for cleaning
power i find you still cant beat Vikan.
-
Using it now...
Bristles are to long... Messy brush

I felt a bit sad this morning using my old Harris pole and vikan brush and having to leave my shiny new slx in the van, but at least I know the windows will be 100% clean! Should have a new brush for the slx tomorrow, but it made me realise today that for most work a Harris pole and a good brush is more than adequate to do a good job!!
-
will stick with it for a bit yet. hopefully i get to grips with it. should i be pushing hard on glass to get those black bristles doing the cleaning ?
can a vikan be fitted to these poles? i have the quick loc goose neck so i am hoping some type of adaptor available

You do not have to press too hard on the glass. Just let the brush do the work - you will find that the black bristles come into contact fairly easily if you have the Super-Lite DT Standard splay Medium-mixed.
You can fit a Vikan brush if you need to, to do this you will need to swap the top section of the Quick-LoQ Resi-neck for a standard screw top version - http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/resi-neck-quick-release-type-1.html. However the weight balance of the Vikan will spoil an otherwise light pole.

It may be that you have not yet found exactly the right Super-Lite brush to best suit your working style and method.
The Super-Lite range of brushes are one of the most popular WFP brushes in the UK currently with over 1000 sold every month. Using the right one for the work and working method will ensure a 100% clean.
If you would like some more specific advice and help on brush choice, please feel free to email me on alex@agardiner.co.uk

worked with it again today n felt better. pushed it a little onto glass for black bristles to do the scrubbing. then released the pressure on glass n rinsed.

We have been doing this for about 9 years now - must be doing something OK :)
In this time we have invested in a lot of brush development and tooling. Currently we hold the largest range of WFP brushes in the world with several more brushes on the way to further boost the range. Whilst we could quite easily get by on just 4 or 5 main brushes it is good to be able to offer various types to suit a wider range of client preferences. Although we still do not get it right for everyone's taste!
