Title: How clean is yours?
Post by: Kevin Miller on June 17, 2014, 08:39:29 am
How do you guys clean your pressure washers? I appreciate a lot of you have your machines in your trucks and everything's in your van but for myself I'm still pushing and pulling mine in and out of my van and as my hose is only 10 metres in length keeping it dirt free is a challenge. So how do you clean yours? Do you actually power wash it  :o or use wd40 and a cloth all over?

I used to give mine a good wipe and clean once a year in the winter. But I haven't done that for a couple of years now. It is due one. I just try to keep spray away from it and keep the washer out the way where possible

Two people who I use for parts told me they pressure wash them off with them ticking over. I had a machine that I acquired as a spare that needed fixing and full service etc and look old and tatty. I got it working and then gave it a clean with the pressure washer and left it running for ten mins after and it didn't cause a problem.

You see my machine is also electric start so if I was to say use my vario nozzle on my pressure washer surely that can't be good for the electrics?

Mine wasn't an electric start but I probably wouldn't advise it, could you avoid that area?

Pressure wash mine once a week after last job, on low pressure of course
