How long is a piece of string!? So many variables.

From my experience the SLX will last a good 2 - 3 years.

My slx's are still in use - one was bought in 2008, the other in 2010. We upgraded clamps every other year and the latest clamps are the best of the lot.

We work 6.5 hours a day, 4 days a week and these poles are used for all our work except for the occasional use of the extreme 47.

Wont last any longer than your clx, my clx is going on 3 years and its still as good as new.
Plus it has the old clamps all working to perfection.
Because the SLX is a lot more expensive than a CLX I think people tend to take better care of them
thus making it seem that they last longer.

My slx is 3 years old and still on its original clamps and works like new.

I'm full time, 5 full days a week usually.

Every time I put it back in the van I clean the pole hose, and at the end of the week I give it a good clean.

If your not getting atleast 3 years out of an slx you mustn't be maintaining it very well.

Do the same as Jonny, also when retracting the pole try and support the lengths so that
they don't rub on the clamps.

Got 2 slx over 3 years old apart from reglueing the odd clamp both still working fine and I don't really look after them as well as I should but I would sooner clean an extra house a day than faff about about  stripping sections down washing through extra. Saying that see my other post extreme section.
