Has any one got the replacement hose reel spindle pure freedom sell? It's a metal one to replace the existing plastic spindle on the standard wfp hose reel.
I bought 2 a few months ago but the inner of the spindle was untreated metal, so every morning after a few minutes I would get rusty water coming out of my hose.
Yesterday they sent me 2 replacement ones which are plated but when you look down the centre of the spindle I can already see rust. I filled it with water last night and tipped it out this morning and guess what, the water come out rusty looking.
Has anyone else had this problem?

we had one of these reels thinking the quality was good.... wrong!
Reels are a constant let down for us so I ended up buying the new stainless one from ionic. I had them change the design so it has a shorter handle and no wheels. They are expensive at £250 but my god the build quality is by far the best i have ever seen, and they have a 10 year warranty! We have 3 more on order.

Awful. We've had four. All of them now replaced with the original plastic spindles with the metal ones in the vans for emergency repairs only.

One broke, now replaced, two with your symptom of dirty water.
So we bought four plastic replacements and the three working metal ones are in the various vans as emergency replacements (when the alternative would be not working at all).

I've been in contact with them again, and they are returning the metal spindles to the manufacturer because of the problems with rusting. They said they would send be out 2 plastic spindles instead, but I asked to have the money off their own hose reel instead which by the sounds of it they have modified with a stainless steel spindle, so hopefully it should be ok.

Has anyone tried this one: http://www.purefreedom.co.uk/pure-freedom-professional-metal-hose-reel-p-653.html I'm thinking of getting one. Seems to have a placcy spindle, so should be no issues with rusty water.
Which one was giving problems?
Cheers

We have a couple of these, the sides are made out of a type of plastic, and when you reeling out it can cut through the supply pipe that feeds the reel, I am always having to replace the pipe ::)roll

That is the reel I will be getting, they actually have a stainless steel spindle so no rusting.
This is the one I've had problems with, I bought their replacement metal spindles that has been causing the problem.
