Hi Ian.

I've got a problem with one of my controllers, after it's been in use for an hour or so, it turns itself off and the only way to get it to turn back on it to disconnect the power for a second and reconnect it and it will turn back on, it will then keep on doing this fir the rest of the day. I'm pretty sure it is over heating, I took the front cover off today after it shut off and it worked perfectly for the rest of the day. Does it sound like it needs binning, or can they be repaired?

Hi Lee. The controls will operate in ambient air temp up to 40c. The pcb it self will run up as high as 70c. The control will shut down if the temp on the board is high.
Occasionally if in direct sun in the back of a closed van temps can  get high.

The higher the pump speed and flow rate the more current is drawn. In turn this can increase the temp. Check for any restrictions that may be causing the pump to work harder than normal.

I feel the control is ok as it worked ok when the pcb cooled with faceplate off.
