Hi Guys
There have been a few posts on here latley concerning training courses for gaining new customers and generally improving your business.
My question is, if some one who has built up a multi millon pound commercial window cleaning business was to offer a course along these lines, how much would you pay to attend a course, and what would you expect to learn?
Depends where you would hold the course?

The problem is those who can do, those who cant teach.
Why would somebody who has built a multi million pound business need to make money
by teaching how they achieved it ?
If they felt the need to give something back by teaching it for free then I would certainly give it
a go.
Rich Dad poor Dad comes to mind when I hear posts like this, here's a guy who has made a fortune
writing books and teaching people how to make and use money, but all his original businesses went
bankrupt or never came to much.
So for me I wouldn't expect to learn anything that I couldn't find out for free.
Well you might get to learn the latest business buzz words.
-
not knocking anyone but it tends to still come down to investing money into some form of marketing
if i had spare money i would get nat to make the best website and seo it everyday
if i had spare money i would get 100,000 leaflets printed and then spend more money on getting them delivered
If i had...............i think you get the idea..
I know and everyone else knows all this, its not new, it may be packaged differently, its generally a new spin on a old idea
If i "won" the free course i would still go but just to see if it can make a difference to my life

ID PAY A THUG TO BREAK THE LEGS OF THE CHARLATAN SELLING SUCH A COURSE!
If you need to pay someone to tell you what is so plainly bleeding obvious then you deserve to be enrolled on a numpty course for stupidity.
Im sorry if that's a bit harsh but these courses are designed for naive people who are easily manipulated & still green around the gills!

I agree with you completely, along with what bobplum says. Decent flyers, decent website, professional attitude (not like me >:(!) and enthusiasm (definitely not me!), are all you really need. If you cant make it work with that, you aint gonna!
-
Although I wouldn't be interested in the course myself.
I'm sure somebody would.
It's like franchising-those that have their own business see it as a percentage given away for not a lot done.
Those that like the security of a franchise-it's perfect for them.
A course, like Knocker is suggesting, may just be the little bit of security that someone may need.
If they've been employed for x amount of years, it softens the blow, a little bit, of jumping into self-employed.

The comments made on this forum when someone opens a topic about further development is just amazing. It really shows the intelligence of some members.
Knocker - I'm based in N.ireland and will take advice and help offered all day long

I disagree. I don't think it has anything to do with intelligence. It's about opinion and personal preference.
X calls Y stupid for going on a course. Y calls X stupid for calling courses stupid.
I have been on numerous courses for numerous things. Some of them were a total waste of time + money. Some of them were pretty good, actually. If it's not for you , it's not for you. Simples.

I agree course are not for everyone and understand what you are saying.
What do comments like this mean,
Have you been watching too much tv (deleted by Ben M)
ID PAY A THUG TO BREAK THE LEGS OF THE CHARLATAN SELLING SUCH A COURSE!
Comments like this happen all the time and it's embarrassing to read and offers nothing to anyone. People just want to talk about how much they made on a custy and how big is your pole, blah etc...
-
Well Ben m is French so what can you do.
As for the delightful J.D. best keep my mouth shut, might need my legs this week...

Your not getting any advice unless your prepared to part with your hard earned cash.
J.D. might have come on a bit strong but he's just trying to warn people not to fall for these ( I have found the secret of
how to be successful and will share it with you for a price ) scams.
If your looking any info on further developing your business then ask, you will find plenty of genuine people on here who
will offer it for free.
-
Plenty of people out there who will be happy to take your money off you, that's for sure.
-
I'm not targeting J.D or Ben M about the comments, we just don't need topics created and commented with as such.
No-one wants scammed that's for sure and paying for a course won't suit everyone. For example - Even though a lot of Health and safety courses are common knowledge to us, we would still have to attend and show we've attended if a contract like a government required it. You wouldn't turn down the contract because you have a view that the course is just for taking your hard earned cash

Don't get scared, Ben M's a froggy & JD's a Paddy! Target them all you like! ;D

It's a very vague question.
