Title: Generator- any recommendations?
Post by: DeLuce on June 08, 2014, 10:39:12 pm
As above please, as I'll want one for use with my gutter vac. Preferably without shelling out too much dosh. Eg. £200 or below.
Thanks for any advice.

I've got a Loncin 5000 sat in my garage doing nothing - used for about four hours.

Your not going to get much of a Genie for under £200 ! Especially if you need it to run a gutter VAC!

You will need a bigger genie than that Ian. You also need to cover additional amps the motor's draw when starting up and the loss of efficiency due to heat etc.

So 2.3 ot 2.5 KVA would be a minimum if you started each motor seperately and waited until the first had got up to speed before starting the second.

the nilfisk 1800 if thats what your getting runs fin on my 2.6kva generator.

The 1800 figure is the maximum watts , it runs lower once started up and its only one motor.

Ok, thanks for the replies again.
Yeah, it is the Nilfisk I have got. Got a generator today for £140 a 2.8kva. Should do the job then. It has x2 240v socket outlets.
