Hi,
I have a gutter clean on a 2 storey house next week but I have a 5 litre sprayer and am not sure how to apply virosol to the gutters first. Do you spray the virisol on to the brush first to apply it or is there something im missing here? Sorry but im a newbie :o
Thanks,
Steve

hi steve.....iv sprayed viro-sol directly onto brush on a few occasions to do some first cleans. works well.

Spraying on brush is ok and will do the job.
We have found that using a backpack is the best way, gives a really good soaking with chem, then plug back into your pure supply and off you go

Ok thanks guys. I will spray on brush and can invest in a back pack as work builds up later.

Or as I just use an extra black bucket (£1) mix it up & just dump the brush head in it (this is the old brush heads that I set aside for this type of work) no need for an extra expense of a backpack

Very true, but using a backpack is far less hassle than dropping and lifting your pole and brush, it's also much quicker, so the backpack will have paid for itself in time saved after 4 jobs .....

If budget allows Steve then I'd get an xjet sprayer. You just attach to a pressure washer and it fires your chosen chemicals up to approx 25ft from ground level, wait 5mins then soft wash off. You can't purchase one from an American seller on eBay

These all dried up before i could order one. I though i had opened the box 4 weeks later and it was something else.
Best i can find is.

I wouldn't use one for applying HSC But i would be tempted to put one on a lance system to wash off HSC!

Make your own. Get a 5L sprayer, attach pole hose to the sprayer, run hose up an old pole, use the plastic lance that came with sprayer and push it through a resi neck, attach nozzle on the other side of resi neck and fix lance to pole hose with a JG straight fitting. Get some foam and force that in resi neck to make a snug fit for the lance, so it won't move about when extending the pole or glue the lance in the neck. You need to fix the trigger somewhere along the pole hose.
Sorted ;)

This is pretty much what i did. Except i used pole hose up the complete pole and placed a Gardiner wide fan jet at the top. I then use a pole tap at the bottom to turn on and off.
I am working on it this weekend though, as i will be using an aqua-dapter instead now just for ease of use.
Most lance systems use the same hose associated with pole hose. So JG fittings work.

I could be totally wrong here but.... cant you disconnect hose from water tank and put it in a bucket mixed up with virosol? So the pump pulls from bucket instead of tank
-
i mix virosol/water in a backpack for upper g/f/s.simply spray on.leave 5 mins then wash off with your pure or extension hose on customers outside tap.
also the backpack comes in handy for the odd awkward window cleaning job. ;)

Did the job today and got it done no problem. Spraying on brush is ok but at 2 stories not the easiest way to apply. I was thinking about the backback and not sure how it would be easier. Do you put virosol & water into back pack and spray it out the 2 jets. Then drain that out and put water in and brush & rinse. Sorry to be thick.

Connect a cheap brush to a harris pole and connect to your back back
Then have your normal wfp connected to pure water
Spray using harris pole and scrub, then change to wfp pole to rise and also rinse any drips from windows as virosol is a pig to clean off glass if it dries

Thanks Tony. Simples :)
Cheers,
