I had put the customers price up by £1 still very cheap as he is a friend of a friend (£5 cheaper than his neighbour), after an email to remind him of payment due he sent a bac's payment at the old price, I emailed him to tell him this and said I would put it on next bill, he replied that money was tight and he would be doing his own in future, he has a good job with bt and wife works as well, his window cleaning bill costs him less than a £1 a week.
I would be interested to watch him clean his own windows as there is no way he will be climbing a ladder or getting on his flat roof, as he is about 28 stone, I wonder when I will get a phone call to return.

Email him back thanking him for his custom over the time you have done it. Then tell him what the going rate is should he decide to have his windows professionally reclean by yourself at a later date.
Usually jobs like that aren't worth the hassle - he has done you a favour. We have found over the years that the underpriced jobs are the ones that give the most hassle.

I love these type.
I lost (the only) one after a price rise across the board.
She's gonna Karcher 'em.
No worries says I, (I'm really not bothered, even the new price was still a touch cheap tbh) what are you gonna use on the frames?
Ummm...

If you pass by regular watch the windows get dirtier cos when they do them themselves they never keep it up .

I love it when they say that they're cleaning their own windows. It's usually a two-bob snob who really hasn't got two ha'pennies to rub together. Or a halfwit. Before I branched out on my own I was working with another fella, and one of his custies paid particular interest in how we cleaned the glass. Even to the point of buying his own squeegee and asking if we could show him the technique. My boss didn't cotton on to where it was going until the next time and the 'ta very much, I do them myself now.' Badly. Mind you, he did have bad teachers ;D
Or one of mine who wants me to clean them every 8 weeks as she cleans them herself in between my cleans, but refuses to admit it. Even though the Evans Window cleaning spray is on show. Bl00dy stuff bakes on the conservatory in summer. I let her off tho as I usually get at least one sneaky peak at her sunbathing topless every year. Every cloud eh?

So you lost a tit and replaced with two more?

I was cleaning a customers windows for years until last year. She text me to say her husband purchased a soft brush in B&Q and she was going to attach a hose to it and wash her own windows! I thought it best not to explain the water thingy and wished her all the best!
What I wanted to tell the idiot was not very pleasant! ::)roll

The customer will never do it. I used to have a window cleaner and he was great ! Used to clean my windows every month and I used to clean his. Worked brilliantly for about a year until he quit due to ill health - don't think my windows have been cleaned since...
