When using this product is it OK to leave in the carpet or does it need flushing after a given time?
Just read the instructions and it gives no information on flushing out or I'm reading it wrongly.
I cleaned a wool mix cream Berber on Friday and had a call today saying there was some swirl marks in the carpet.I used SPm and acid rinsed.
Ive just been to look and there does appear to be 4 or 5 very faint light brown swirly marks just in one spot near the door.I'm presuming its a slight browning problem.The carpet was hessian backed.
That said before I cleaned the carpet the customer showed me some marks already in the carpet that she said appeared after her son wiped it with a wet cloth.There have gone but now these have appeared after I cleaned it.
Anyway I intend to go and treat these marks as browning problem as it looks like such a problem so can someone please clarify on best use of Browning Treatment.

The browning treatment is designed to be sprayed onto the affected areas and left to dwell. Once the desired result has been achieved any excess moisture can be blotted with terry towels.
SPM is a around ph 10-5 -11 so not really suitable for wool, especially wool berbers which tend to take longer to dry than normal piled carpets.

Thanks John,Ive used SPM on wool in the past but only on really dirty carpets.This wasn't too bad and in hindsight I should have used MPower but had run out of that product.
Hopefully this Browning Treatment will solve the problem.

SPM is 9.9 ph and i to use it on wool with no issues providing you acid rinse.
Chemspec browning is great and i do flush once ive got the desired result.

Wool Berbers are notorious for throwing up problems. I hear more about these from my customers than any others. This is mainly due to the way the fibres lie flat. This allows the underlying fibres to hold on to moisture a lot longer than normal. I would always advise use of an acidic or at least woolsafe product on these.

Chemspec Browning prescription/coffee remover is excellent I use it all the time

Doesn't SPM have a oxy ingredient? I thought the acid rinse would accelerate this

Paul you've got it the wrong way round, redusers are excelerated by acids, oxy based bleaches are accelerated by high alkalies like ammonia.
I think chemspec coffee remover is a sod-met type product so theoretically it the acid rinse did'nt remove it or massively dilute it then it could give it a small boost

Sod met is a reducing agent, therefore certain acids will excellorate. Prochem fab and fibre although on the acidic side will not.
