its all good trippy!.we all know we ll never be millionaires in this business working on our own(unless your names mick kent!) but years of working hard and providing a good reliable service pay off in the end with a half decent living that most of us could only dream about years ago.
ive smashed my best ever month by £540 this month.im up £1700 on this time last year and im on course to earn £17-£18,000 MORE a year than 5 years ago.
this is the last year of a 5 year plan that i started back in 2010 to turn my business around.
now its become self generating with work coming to me rather than me looking for it.
thing is you can never rest on your laurels in this game.you gotta keep working hard, stay organised and not take any customers for granted as theres plenty of competition out there.
end of year accounts when all expenses, tax, insurances etc have been taken out is still the bottom line regardless of record days, months etc.
its strange innit?what i used to be happy with earning in a day becomes an "average" day and i strive for more and more money.when i get there im looking at my next goal!
its like drinking salt water.it just makes you thirstier!
maybe the striving for more money is deep rooted in my mind due to years of being broke and struggling along with debts which seems like an age ago now.
best wishes

i feel sorry for the more fragile minded people on this forum, who maybe struggling and when they see posts like this makes them more inferior and perhaps question what they are doing wrong
If some people commit suicide, because of these posts will daz and the likes accept responsibility for there part ???

Great Post dazmond. :)

Dazmond do you mind if I asdk what age you were when you started turning your life and business around? Reason I ask is most people might think its to late to make the change.
I'm 35 and just started in the last few years to set goals and make a difference.
I just wonder were I would be now if I was like that from the beginning when I started window cleaning 14 years ago.

no point in "what ifs" mate.ive been window cleaning 21 years now.im 42 now but started setting goals when i was 38.whats done is done.what matters is learning from mistakes made in the past.mine mainly to do with pricing.i didnt have the confidence to charge more and my attitude was somewhat lacking.
however over the last 4 years especially my attitude has changed dramatically.the adventure into wfp and sign written vans, logod uniform, professional looking stationary, online payments, round software etc,etc has all made a difference.
i enjoy my work these days and take pride in providing a good reliable service for a fair price without working for peanuts.thus my earning power has greatly increased.
very best wishes

Great response Daz,your a wise un mate.
I last drank two years ago this very day Daz that last session cost me big time,i lost my wife to be :'(
But now she is back in my life again :)
I also remember your break up too Daz
With hinsight it was the best thing that ever happened to me,it made me turn my life around work wise and outside work.
Glad your enjoying life mate, its what its all about.
Money in the grand scheme of things will never make anybody truly happy long term , but its great when you earn just a wee bit more than before and your business is well structured and growing.
Its ppl like you with your sensible and enthusatic posts that help a bloke like me tremendously.
Keep up the good work matey
