Title: What height pole
Post by: davids3511 on May 28, 2014, 12:05:08 am
Need to clean up to 40 foot at the very top of the highest window. Does anyone know what height pole do I need for this?

If you could find one about 39' and stand on tip-toe, that'd be fine.

47 footer will do it.a 40 footer would be too short due to angle which loses height. :)

Gardiners 35 ft will do the job. If you 10ft tall a 30ft unger pole will do it !!! 8)

Why's it funny? Just because its 40 foot straight up doesn't mean a 40 foot pole will clean it when your stood away from the windows. Thought I'd ask here rather than working out my pythagoras theorem. Glad to be of some amusement to you, even if your not particularly helpful.

Using Pythagoras theorem and guessing you'd be holding the pole at 60 degrees at the most; you'd need a 46.188 ft pole.

70 degrees is probably more realistic - that would be 42.567 ft.

Considering the pole won't be on the ground I'd say 40-45ft will probably do you. Remember not all pole manufacturers call their pole 40 or 45 because that's the actual length of the pole. 'Extended length' is what you need...

I worked it out standing 15 foot from base of wall x 40 foot up I would need a 42 foot pole. Take off about 4 foot for me holding it chest height and I need 38 foot. Cheers, I knew my theorems would come in handy one day

Whilst your theorems are still in your head, what sort of pressure do you think you'll place on the brush head using the calculus you've worked out? You really think you'll stand 15 foot out from a 40 foot high window with a 38Ft pole at chest height and scrub ? You'll be in for a shock.

I don't know the answer, I can guess though. That's why I posted on here to see if anyone with actual experience can offer advise. I see you didn't offer any, your just trying to be clever. Are you now stalking me because I called you a judgemental k**b on the Ritchie thread? Did it burn a bit, the truth?
