Post by: ben smith1234 on May 25, 2014, 06:47:56 pm
Hello guys-
What's your best suggestions for removing black spot ?
Priced to clean a patio but during cleaning we noticed tiles were riddled in black spot .

Would you charge extra to remove the spots ontop of original quote?

Hypo (sodium hypochlorite) is what most people on here would recommend.

I suppose at one point we all tried TFR, I will admit I did but then I discovered hypo.

Some people say try a ratio of 5:1 and if no luck go to 3:1. That's 3 parts water to 1 part hypo. Personally don't think people charge extra for black spots but I may be wrong, they would just name the price upfront. Some people may say to tell the client before hand you can't guarantee getting rid of the black spots but you will do your upmost but that's up to you. Be careful if you are using it around lawn and plants.

Included in the price. We're not gonna leave the spots, unless it's commercial and there's a vast amount of paving. We had that case to the paving round the canal in Manchester. Loads of spots but no chem allowed so just scate and rinse.
