Hi chaps, quoting for a full house render clean that's suffering from algae.
Thought I might try for the algoclear method, but it seems a bit unclear how long it takes effect before I could rinse down after application so the builder can paint
Thanks
Darran

Why not just use chloris? Use a 50/50 ratio, wait 15mins then soft wash off.

Algae will be dead after about 4/5 hours.
-
It'll take forever and a day with that method!

What exactly is chloris.? Where can i obtain some from...maybe a clitorus?
-
Commercial bleach!
-
chloras is the same as hypo

Cheers Chris
Which is the best to use, algoclear or the pro version
JD - had considered hypo but I was looking for a product that would defo kill the roots and spores so when I wash down there is NO chance of any residue of algae remaining

pro ....it's 40%.

How do you soft wash with algoclear? Wfp trolley system?

You can apply anyway you see fit. As long as the surface is wetted with Quats it will work....brush and a bucket if you do not have any equipment.

What's quats?
-
This...
Quaternary ammonium cations, also known as quats, are positively charged polyatomic ions of the structure NR4+, R being an alkyl group or an aryl group.[1] Unlike the ammonium ion (NH4+) and the primary, secondary, or tertiary ammonium cations, the quaternary ammonium cations are permanently charged, independent of the pH of their solution. Quaternary ammonium salts or quaternary ammonium compounds (called quaternary amines in oilfield parlance) are salts of quaternary ammonium cations with an anion.

What's quats?
The active ingredient in moss and algaecides. The bit that does the damage...

I think my answer I'd better,
Can't understand a bleeding word of it mind 😆😆😆

Chris could you use a telescopic lance and a venture for algoclear and hypo ? or will it damage the hose.Apologies if that's a stupid question im a nooby.
-
I was also wondering can I run algo clear through my chemical intank of my pressure washer run it up my pressure washing lance and I have a hp brush on the end so if I turned the pressure right down and applied it then leave for a while then wetted and scrubbed until gone then apply a diluted layer at the end to finish what do you think chris??? No algoclear will not damage anything. Telescopic lances don't usually work well with a venturi.

Whats the best method to cover render with algoclear Chris ?
-
We spray or brush....but the method is not really that important. As long as the surface is wetted with the mix. Brushing will usually give quicker results as "agitation"(scrubbing) is usually the key to successful cleaning of any surface.

Ok thanks Chris

Chris - hoping to use algoclear tomorrow but looks like rain, would I be right in thinking that applying in rain would be a waste of time?
Darran
-
Damp/drizzle would be ok ...pi55ing downs not.
If the weather is inclement just use a slightly stronger mix...(not much stronger)
-
Cheers Chris, that's what I thought
Thx. Darran

I'm confused with this algoclear!
I've a limestone with green algae on it
I've a bottle of algoclear
What do I now, full process?
-
Is it a lime stone or limestone......you will never get the green out of the former ;D

Really? Saying that I think it should have been sandstone, lol
