hi everyone i live in essex but on the border of some london boroughs where i have alot of work.
Mechanic was telling me the other day that 2015 i would have to get rid of my 51 plate ford escort.
Due to new regulations on emissions.
Anyway i went on the lez.gov.uk website and basically my van is ok.
Anyone else heard about this?
I know they were picking on the bigger diesel trucks etc and spoke to a few builders with nice trucks that had to get rid.
I know i should be getting a newer van but i don't earn the fortunes that some do on here ;D

An Escort is fine. In general the affected vehicles are commercial diesel vehicles more than 1 tonne gvw and more than 10 years old. I would have to pay an exorbitant fee to enter the zone as my Trafic is 11 years old and 2.9 tonnes. However, the zone starts 20 miles north from me so not an issue as my work just outside the zone is sparse anyway. I have previously declined a small quantity of work inside that area but it's on the outer edge of how far I would normally travel anyhow.

I'm sure like me the van becomes like an old friend :)
Had mine 10 years its 13 in November.
Wish they still made escort vans as everything now is taller and won't fit in my up and over garage.
