iv jus joined the forum so im pleased to meet u all. heres my first question. iv not long had my vivaro and I had a look under it ,as u do, and halfway across the back axle is an extra wheel. its much smaller than the other wheels ,but I can spin it - does it touch the road with a heavy load ?
any of you lads got this on yours? im wondering what its for
-
???
-
New one on me ! :-\
-
No idea what that is, or what it is for. However, if it is half way across the axle it shouldn't touch the road, even with a heavy load. The weight is supported at either side by the suspension, not the middle.
-
is this a wind up?
got to be surely !!!

post a picture

straight up , no wind up. have a look under yours might have one, mines 2008 model. it has a tyre ,slimmish
-
Only tyre under mine is the spare one :)
-
It's just a spare tyre. If that touches the floor your van is massively overweight.
-
Cant be a spare, he says it spins!
???
-
was surprised to see it to be honest. its on its own hub ,right midway on the rear axle. only thing I can think of is if the van bangs down with weight this will cushion the blow
only a guess tho!
-
Perhaps it is an ex drag racing van and it is the wheelie bar!!
Sounds like a bit of pony to me!
-
Try hitting it with a left handed hammer.
-
Before you hit it though unscrew any bolts with your left handed screw driver!
