Title: Pump problem
Post by: Gordon_Taylor on May 19, 2014, 09:26:56 am
Morning all, just wanted to pick some brains.

Over the last week my flojet pump has been taking longer to switch off, then this morning the water is just dribbling out from the hose, when I turn the tap off the begins to build but not enough to engage the pressure switch.

Instinct tells me it's the diaphragm that's knackerd, it's never had a great flow so I think it's finally gone

Just wondered if anyone else had had the same symptoms?

Many thanks,

Gordon

Take the top off and clean out the crap that builds up as that slows flow right down and causes air locks i have found! Thats with surflow pumps but am guessing they are the same.

Yeah seemed to be an air lock I sucked the hose before the reel at it seems to have cleared it.

Thanks Matt and Mick for the info.

Hiya Gordon hope the pumps ok, I shouldn't think there's anything wrong with the pump as it wasn't used that much. If your having probs with it ill sort you back what you paid for it m8 no probs.
Gordon sometimes I get the same with mine the water flows goes really slow, I have to take the connector off which goes into the reel and switch pump on, let the water flow for a minute or 2 so the air locks cea out then its fine. If I was you I would fit a strainer on the hose from tank before going into pump so this stops all the crap going into the pump. I think there about £12 and you only unscrew the plastic cap take out the lil bit of mesh which collects bits of crap, give it a wash in ya bucket and put it back m8. 👍

Hi Danny, hope your well mate.

The pumps been fine just had a brain fart this morning, I've never really suffered from air locks with my van mount but once I sucked on the outlet of the pump it worked fine.

I've got a strainer fitted already but thanks anyway.

Regards,

Gordon
