Title: More help on pricing my first big commercial job??
Post by: H20cleaning on May 14, 2014, 10:07:34 am
Sorry lads need a little bit more from you.

I actually received the call to go and price the job on friday.
I have been on google maps and had a rough look around the building and its looking like it could be 2full days on the glass (im on my own) firstly would the college mind how long it took me?
Also do i price my usual domestic days rate or more because its commercial?

Also when sending quotes to the people in charge what do you 100% make sure is included in the quote.

Many thanks in advance

Get the job. Ask what their budget is, quite often they will tell you. You then decide if it's worth it or not. Some guys will work for less.
If not, price it at two days rate. Consider getting a local wc to work on it with you so it's done in a day.

Go and see it in real life.
Google is good but there's a whole lot you'll not see.
A college we do takes 3 lads 2 days to do. They're fine with it.

Ask your college if there are any restrictions. Tell them you expect to take 2 days but could be more could be less. Just be open with them.
In my experience, the little hitler types tend to be a junior schools.
College's & University's-they tend to be more professional. And care little about how long you're there as long as they're under budget and the cleaning is ok. (Not even perfect, just ok)

Thanks! I have a meeting arranged friday 11.30am to actually view the building and have a chat with the person in charge.
I have a guy making me a professional letter head with my company logos on etc so when i email the quote it looks the dogs balls.

When i get some photos of the job could i email you them see what you think roughly a time scale it would take to complete the job? ( not a price as everyones different)
Would really appreciate this as its hard to judge when i have never done
Something this big.
Many thanks
