Don't understand the shorts question?. Don't know what make my shorts are, but they look pretty similar to the trousers i wear for work, 'cept they are shorter!.
As for boots, my military surplus goretex lined work boots look a bit odd with shorts, so i have a pair of waterproof karrimor walking boots i wear instead.
