Have some staining on conny roof, which is clear glass, guess its lead oxide. Anyone know what will get it off?
-
Not a lot, it's usually etched into the glass if it's that bad,
Best I've tried for hard stains is winsol
Darran
-
As Smudger said it will be very hard to get off
-
i had a similar thing and used rub out. it got 90% off
-
Who stocks rub out?
I have Winsol and have been hugely unimpressed with it over the years. Never works for me on anything.

Be really careful. Usually clear glass conny roofs are self cleaning. Anything manly enough to take the lead off will also damage the coating on the glass.

thanks for replies, I'll just tell them what's available and warn them of dangers. cheers

Some one told me to use white vinager. It worked a treat .

If the stains have been there for a while, they've formed a compound with the glass called lead carbonate and no, it doesn't come off.
Recent stains might to some degree but older ones, nope, and white vinegar won't touch it because the chemical compound is too stable.
