Title: Cleaning Inside Conservatory roof
Post by: Phil J on May 12, 2014, 08:49:11 pm
Hi Guy's
Need some advice on cleaning the inside of a conservatory roof without getting water all over the place. Pricing advice would also be helpful.
Thanks, Phil.....

Depends how you want to approach it you could use a step/step ladder to mop and blade inside using the mop only damp to allow for as little water as possible. Using towels/dust sheet etc on the floor or items in conservatory could help you depending on the situation.

Some on here say to use a karcher window vac, maybe useful to use the extension you can buy with it. This would eliminate your problem of water as the vac i believe sucks up the water. I havnt used these myself but am looking to get one soon for this type of work.

Pricing wise personally i use the outside price and add a bit on, sometimes quite a bit on if I would rather not do it (which is most of the time) as they can be a pain and on a warm sunny day are no fun to be doing.

For spars and framework we spray on a white vinegar mix and wipe off with microfiber cloths, panels we use damp applicator with soap and vinegar mix and use karcher vac

To reach higher parts step ladders or combination ladders

Phil...get some strong tape and tape a cloth/dustsheet under each pane near the walls, as you go. The drips are normally like treacle and drip on the walls and stain them. I used a customer's karcher vac on one and am considering buying one as it helped with the drips.  All the frames will need cleaning, even if the customer says just glass, you'll have to do the frames too. Watch out for sun in your eyes and wasps.

Pricing?: Assuming it is a first clean,  allow minimum 3 hours for a normal size conservatory you'd find on a typical 3 bed semi.
