Hi all i'm thinking about getting one of these land line numbers that goes to your mobile anyone used this type of thing before? and would you recommend it?

0800 number.
My office is at home.

Do you find more people ring the 0800 number than the mobile? as i was thinking about get a local number as i don't want to use my home number as my Mrs is always gossiping on it ::)roll

My 0800 is linked to my phone.
I had a chap call the other week and said 'I thought I called the landline'
As he wanted 250 quids worth of drive & patio done for 100 quid but he had made a start with his pencil jetted Karcher I didn't respond and tell him how it worked.
He felt my price was too much but was, in his words 'happy to spend the next seven/eight days cleaning it himself'
He had a couple coming to view the house, it was for sale, again he said 'at least I can show them what it will look like'
From the start the cost of ending up on a mobile number, from my 0800 number was clearly always going to be an issue.

I think I pay for all calls to my 0800 number because of the divert on the line.

The bill is about £30 a month for the 0800 number. It's mixed, a lot ring the mobile with their free minute, some networks charge to call 0800, some you can drop the first '0' and it be free.
I get quite a few whatsapp messages as the first point of contact by them sending me images for a price.

I have 2 lines in the house, my opinion that people prefer a local code no. Than a 0800 as it tells people your local. It works for me but Im not a national company like mclean and blastaway.
Rob your post reflects you on the ale! ;D

Is it a bit rambling mate?

I have 0800, local and mobile. Sky used to ring out on the two office numbers then divert to mobile after 5 rings, I'm now on Virgin and they won't allow that option, it's either divert immediately or nothing. Stupid IMO but I have to divert it.

i had to be in Wembley for six o clock yesterday morning. It was an 02.00 get out of bed.
Got there at 05.30, did all the permits and then removed some bird netting and cracked on with a glass canopy clean.
Had to be done before the store opened - 11.00, people started appearing about 09.45 to wait for it to open.
Asda store, Wembley, right by the stadium - got back home about 13.00 so by the time I posted that the old head was wobbling round on my shoulders.

They are pointless in the 21st century. Most people have mobile phones with tonnes of minutes and don't care about Free numbers!
