Thought I would share a couple of reasons custy's have tried to justify a cheap job,
1 "As a regular customer surely you can do it cheaper"
2 "I'm a christian and Jesus made me call you, it was meant to be, so Jesus knows
I am poor and knew you would not br expensive"
There are many more! I would love to hear yours ;D

I had a cracker a few years ago. The mum told me I had to give her daughter a cheaper price as she is paying up for her holiday! I wish I could go back in time and laugh at her.
I had another which after agreeing a price (think it was £60), only gave me £45 at the end of the job. She said that's all she can afford as she's skint after moving house. We discussed for about 10 minutes then just left with the 45 as I was getting no where.
Probably the No1 reason is the promise of future work. yeah right! a usual tactic used by the Asian community. "you do cheap price and you can clean for my other cheap skate family members!" how can you resist?

Ah, the `I will get you more work` joke.........If I were given all this extra work I would have retired by now!
-
"It's only small " .......must be the biggest reason
Or
"it's not dirty it's just that I've got a dog and the tenancy agreement says I have to get them cleaned when I leave.... The dog never goes up stairs"
-
It's not very dirty is the number one I get from customers it does take a bit of tact to get around the situation but there isn't one single answer you have to have 3 or 4 up your sleeve.

I get the "is that your best price" regularly.
That will be £65 sir..."is that your best price"....oh no sir my best price is £160.
I gave a quote of £125 to one Asian lady and she said "don't suppose you could do it for £50 then"
-
"Just a 'freshen up' really"
-
"It only needs a couple of marks removed"!!!!
-
"It's only been down about 10 years and it's not that dirty"

Hi Guys
Made me laugh the other day a letting agent rings , his carpet cleaner has retired and they need a new one to handle the vast portfolio.
I quoted my usual letting agent price.
Two weeks later he rings back offering me the work but at £15 per room.
So I said that works out about half what I quoted you for a whole house and a small fraction for a single room.
Yes he replied in that letting agent way you will have access to his vast portfolio.
I replied that that was very kind of him but I didn't fancy doing a load of low priced work .
He then became 'sarky' saying thanks very much Doug, I assured him the pleasure was all mine.
End of conversation!
Cheers
Doug

I have only one rule when it comes to Asians! I dont work for them, its not that I am racist or the fact that I am amember of the BNP its just I dont need the grief, if I give a potential customer a price I dont expext a load of haggling and trying to lower the cost once the work has has been completed
in twenrty five years of cleaning carpets I dont think ive hsd one straight forward asian customer and that the reason I stopped working for them

Asian lady asked for a discount if her husband carried the gear in.
Aloso another Asian lady Said you do hall, stairs and landing in stead of under sofas.
We declined on both counts and left.
