Title: Lads from London, i need help.
Post by: H20cleaning on May 09, 2014, 02:53:22 pm
Not on the subject of w/c.

I have bought 2 tickets to see eminem on the 12th July at wembley and im wondering whats the best thing to do, Im coming from Middlesbrough.

1- drive down, is access and parking very good around that area?
2- get a hotel over night, where is cheap and cheerful?
3- will there be a train that runs home as late as 11.30pm??

Many thanks

Eminem? My advise for your best possible course of action would be to bin the tickets & move your life forward in a more positive fashion!! ;D

Are you really? You've not mentioned that.
I'm a decade older than you and still hoping to see Eminem.
Saw him last at Astoria (is that still open?) in around '97. Before he got big.

You should definitely aim for a hotel, and the train, don't drive down. It'll be just as expensive and you're bound to be over the limit in the morning.
We saw Depech Mode in November at 02, got the premier inn (i think) for about £80...

If you want to make a better trip of it stay at the premier inn in Hammersmith. Good links to wembley good pubs and bars all over the Broadway. Pretty safe lots of tourists stay in west London as its cheaper and the pubs and bars are better. One stop away on the Hammersmith & City line is Goldhawk road that's Shepherds Bush (God's country) your find right outside the tube station the famous Cook's Pie and mash shop.. Often you will see celebrities in eating, last time I was in Pete Townsend from the Who was in. Enjoy your trip down south.

Never heard of that but i can imagine it was years ago as Eminem hasn't done a full gig for 13 years in england!
Payed £95.00 a ticket but i can tick it off my bucket list:)

You will probably pay a small fortune for Premier inn Wembley. Edgeware will be cheaper and just do the tube run. Parking a plenty and straight forward of the M1, if you do the drive down option.

Yeah, 1997. Astoria had a capacity of about 1,000. And it wasn't full. You get the idea.
One if the best gigs I've seen actually. Definitely the rawest. No choreography etc.
Hope you have a good one.

I would tell you to download his album on your phone Gary but you might need 24v to power it😜
