been using zip it from amtech for oil, blur tac, makeup etc , they are not supplying it anymore. What do you guys use and from whom please? thanks, edward

I find Eco X Solvent Spotter from Cleansmart very good.
-
Chemspec POG
-
POG here too.
-
Alltec's gum remover, straight acetone and a Movac (i.e. car bodywork supplies) product called "gunwash" for cleaning up spray guns, which is excellent.
-
I'm using one I can't mention. It will be available from a major manufacturer next year but it is very good!
Other than that just POG.
-
To the people using POG, don't you find you get negative comments from customers? The bloody thing stinks, its a very strong chemically smell.
I recently bought a couple of bottles and now I remember why I stopped using it ages ago.
-
i use mainly prochems solvents.Like to find a good ink solvent, solvex, solvall just dont seem to do it,anyone have a good one for ink blobs.
-
Yup I agree chemspec pog is minging. I bought a bottle and used it once .
-
Yes it mings but it does work, another good one is eco pog from solutions , good but expensive
-
Chemspec have a new one out at interclean this week, Tar Ink & Grease.
Worked very well. I will be ordering next week
-
But what does it smell like Andrew ?
-
thank you guys very helpful. Simon
-
But what does it smell like Andrew ?
I couldn't smell it whilst they were demo'ing it,
mind you my nose couldn't smell pooe from 12" ;D

For chewing gum, blue tac and all that annoying sticky stuff you cant beat Resolvit gel from Solutions, although its bloody expensive at £18 a litre.
-
A really good paint remover is pvc pipe cleaner, the clear liquid one.
-
Stuart it is not as strong a smell as POG and work much better
-
Solvents are specific use products and I would suggest you so some training to gain some kind of understanding of how they work. There is not one solvent that will solve all of your problems.

I've got loads of Amtech stuff called 'ZAP it' (rather than Zip). Did they just change the name?
Must be old - cant find it anywhere.
-
Is the new Chemspec stuff still a volotile solvent? If it is it needs rinsing otherwise can leave quite a bad residue
-
I though volatile ones didn't need rinsing - they evaporated. Isn't it non-volatile that need rinsing?
I could be wrong...

Prochem Solvex is the dogs but is bloody expensive!
I just buy in 5ltr containers of Acetone and Low odour white spirit which works out great value and use along with citrus gel if safe.
