Title: Natural Stone Floor
Post by: Doug Holloway on May 08, 2014, 05:30:05 pm
Hi Guys

I have a large natural stone floor to clean which has been sealed by the customer with a wax type product.

I intend to clean with rotary and then use my spinner tool attached to the truck mount.

The customer has asked me to recommend a better sealing system than he has used.

Any recommendations?

Cheers

Doug

Doug,

You need to confirm with the customer if its a wax based product or an acrylic. There are a few products out there called "wax" but are in fact acrylic sealer.

Assuming it is wax then a good stripping back will be necessary and then you can apply a topical sealer. If it is natural stone then a breathable product is desirable. This is assuming the customer wants a sheen on the tiles. It may be possible to polish the tiles themselves and then apply a colour enhancing impregnator. This would always be my preferred option if practical.

Be careful with the pressure on your spinner as softer stones can be damaged with a spinner.

Do you know what type of stone they are or have a picture?

Hi

Thanks for the reply

I had a sniff I can usually tell and acrylic resin at 50 paces having worked with them as a chemist but I couldn't be sure although I suspect it is.

I will try to ad a picture.

Cheers
