Depends on what else you plan on putting in there. Is it 1 or 2 man set up?

As long as it is that then yes easily. We use to run t220 connects with a 825 payload with 650 tanks and they was on the limit. The tanks had a mark on them so they knew how much to put in. It was prob about 600-620 and they could only ever have up to half a tank of diesel too and they was bang on the max payload.

But I'm sure loads of people will come here now saying their little bit. I run a legit business so can't be seen to be doing anything wrong, of it was wrong they wouldn't have them in the van

reason i was put off the transit was they seemed to be very heavy on fuel???

I think VW also allow 75kg for the driver and make some allowance for fuel when they calculate their payload, so it is a bit more generous than other manufacturers.

payloads are lower than other rival vans,

i think a full 500l tank would put you overweight depending on what else you carry, I would love a caddy maxi 4motion but they are just too expensive!

They might not be great on fuel, but rubbish?, that is a bit harsh!. I get 40mpg, which given i start the day with half a ton of water in the back, then spend the day doing stop start driving, is not that bad.
