Hi Tim, I've been looking back at some older posts (circa 2008) about the use of Isopropanol in conjuction with WFP. Some of your post were very positive about the benefits of adding this product to your pure water tank. Just wondering if, 6 years later, you still use this on a daily basis? As far as I can tell, the benefits include preventing water from freezing, helps water to sheet better on glass, leaves glass with more of a shine, and possibly cleans glass a little better. Would this be correct in your experience? Lastly, what ratio of Isopropanol to water should be used? Thanks a mill.

Degrades rubbers in window frames causing all those black marks. In my opinion STOP IT.

Used ISO for years and didn't find that to be honest.

Jonny, what's the ratio u used? Do you still use ISO and if not, why did u stop? Cheers.

Just found it was an added unnecessary cost.
Pure on its own does the job. Why complicate it?
-
But surely you must have been getting some benefit if you used it for a number of years? What ratio of ISO to water did u use?

Homoeopathy at its finest ... with a touch of placebo thrown in. ;D

I used it in winter to help stop my water stop freezing. Then just carried on with it.

This is such a long time ago I can't even remember why I used it, nor the results. Looking back at the ratios, I don't think there could have been much to it. Have used a hot system for years now.

I use around half a liter in 600 ltrs of water :) I think it has better cleaning properties

Jonny did you add it to pure or tap.

rots window seals, fact.
-
Window seals will degrade over time. Fairy liquid etc will also add to this.
Windows are not designed to last a lifetime so a small amount of IPA or Ecover wouldn't have a dramatic effect.
Few years from now the same may be said about Vision.

it has a p.h of 16.5 and is more alcoholic than a tramps p!55

Are you qualified in that department :)
