waited ages for the Gardiner SLX 25 to be in stock. Now I am wondering if I need SLX 22 with extension if needed. I am after the new 3 story buildings market, as traditional wont reach. Cost wise, not much in it. Also SLX 22 would be easier to manage, add extension as needed. Your views for a noob please

Used to use a clx 18 with another pole for higher work ... got the slx 25 and never needed another pole.
The 25 gets me ground, first and second aswell as second over a conny. Saves the hassle having the 25 rather than extending and then adding a section on .... just extend

Get the 25. Not worth messing around with an extension , you'll end up leaving it on all the time

I find that I can get all my 2 story work with an 18 foot pole so if it was me
I would get either a 18CLX or SLX plus an SLX30 for 3 story and fascias.
I do a couple of properties with 3rd story dormer windows which the SLX25 wont reach.

Initially used a CLX27 for three storey work, no way 18 is enough, and I have the CLX18 too so I should know.
The CLX is OK for occasional use but tend to use a SLX39 for 3 and four storey work. This is the original SLX35 with single extension fitted.
Three storey with Velux or set back attic windows will need at least 27'.
Hope this helps.

I have exactly this.
SLX 18
SKX 30
Extreme 47 (and a load if extensions)
All bases covered

I use both 22 and 25 and I like the 22 being shorter in closed position for down stairs work.. You seem to have a whole lot more control over the pole..

a 25 footer will get most day to day work.most 3 storey domestic.id go for the 25.
when working you dont want to mess around changing sections or poles if possible IMO.
I also have 3 storey dormas where the 25 is too short so i get the 47 footer out.
for my work 2 poles do the job
25 ft (day to day pole)
47 ft (occasional higher work,solar panels,velux,etc)

Don't want to buy 2 poles yet. When the work rolls in I will. That's why I was thinking on the line of an extension. £60 as appose to £300. If money was no problem. I would get a short 18 for ease of work and a long one for the hard to reach jobs

If you dont want 2 poles yet get the SLX25.
I have a clx 18 for everyday use and the SLX25 for those hard to reach places, but I could easy use the slx25 for everyday use if needed but you will find its easier to have a shorter day to day pole PLUS a second pole is good for a backup incase something goes wrong.

Get the SLX25 and run it as an SLX 20, just using the big section when you need it. As an SLX20 it is lighter than an SLX22 being thinner max section and only 4 sections not 5.
I did precisely that for two years only it was an SLX30 running as an "SLX20."
I still use the "SLX20" and have the bits to restore it to an SLX30 available.
Now I have a 47 extreme I rarely add the SLX30 bits unless two of us are working on 3/4 storeys.
