As above - anyone use a van based pump to increase o/s tap water pressure! (would need to be 12v). I've tried a spare Shurflo 5.1ltr / min which helped a little but had to run it flat out for 6hrs.
Any suggestions appreciated...

Interesting question ! no expert on electrics but would like to know the answer to that also. I know that vyair do a 10 lpm pump, would that improve things or is it the psi that's the important factor ? would it be better to run it from a separate leisure battery so as not to run flat the delivery pump or your vans battery depending on how you have your system powered up ?

12V to 240v inverter. Then buy a decent 240v booster pump. Run the inverter off a 12v leisure battery :)
How long the battery will last I don't know lol

Mines a pure freedom system (van battery + split relay to leisure batt, also have a spare transit batt in van as cover) the transit batt is easily removeable to charge so was gonna use that as a power supply) Pure Freedom tell me it's psi 'and' litres / min but don't supply said pump. I'm on 12 - 14hrs to fill from empty (and no 2nd vehicle)

I was using a 24V booster pump with 2 X 12V 120AH batteries when I used to use the tap in the car park to the tower block where I live.
They'd last about 6 - 8 in hours in total before needing recharging although I take one upstairs one night using a trolley and recharge it and the next night ditto for the other and so on.
Seemed to work ok except now the tap has been removed.

van mounted ro ? 12 -14 hrs to fill ! blimey what size tank ? would a larger ro such as a 4040 be a better and ultimately cheaper / easier alternative ?
I run a 4040 ( un pumped ) from my flat to a 600 ltr tank in my van approx 3 hours.
I would like to eventually install everything on board the van as street parking near to my home is becoming increasingly difficult. I have often thought if I could power a booster pump on the van it would offer some consistency to the speed the pure water was produced and its tds. I could then have some flexibility and choices as to where I filled up when I needed to.

Tried that a good few years back. You'd need a huge inverter and then if it worked, the battery would go flat in no time. With the inverter I bought, the pump didn't even turn slowly.
1 amp at 240V is 20amps at 12V. The booster pump I had was (I think) 5 amps which equates to 100 amps at 12V.

was that with your merlin , did the booster pump make a big difference as opposed to without ? I suppose if you had a split charge relay to a separate leisure battery for just the booster pump then a days work whist driving would abolish the need for it to be recharged each night.

Thanks for asking - I'm doing fine mate. I think drove past you the other day at the Vogue Gyratory.
Yup, that was with the Merlin. It did make a difference but with a Merlin, really you need more ummph than a 24V booster pump can give to make a big difference.
I didn't bother with a split relay as I was going upstairs to my flat every night anyway so it was just as easy to take up a battery with me and charge it and then the next night charge the other.

Can you not keep RO in the house and just run a hose to te tank rather than keeping RO in van?
