Title: Masonary paint removal ?
Post by: wpclean on April 25, 2014, 07:50:37 pm
Did a patio clean recently, and the customer wants the surrounding stone walls which are painted in old flaking masonry paint removed.       What would be the most effective method at removing this please ?

Any advice would be very much appreciated, thanks.

I recently did a front garden wall and hired the toreck from tensid, used it with their taveck paint stripper, came off a treat.

Samson

I have tried to use venturi, for sandblasting @ 15 LPM and no it doesn't work. Not enough flow to draw the media. You do get media drawn into the water  but it is so slow you might as well pull up a chair!!!

Thanks for the replies, I will probably advise the lad to look for a sandblasting firm to carry out the work as I don't
think he would pay for the time it would take me using a stripper ( he nearly had a heart attack when I quoted hm for the cleaning we did ) but thank you Chris for your kind offer  ;D

Is the stripper solvent based, just want to give the lad options ?

Thanks

Now then - does anyone round here know of anyone who might have a shot blasting set up???? mmmmmmmmmm - scratchy heady! ;D

Where are you based -though he would probably like my price even less than the paint stripper option!
