Hello all
Just wanted to start a new "clean" thread you hopefully can see that forum admin have posted on the original post I started before Christmas - I have been using CP since it first started being developed and I know there are others on here who have been beta testers too - I just wanted to say we have loved it - and I cannot recommend anyone looking for a change of software to at least take a look at Cleaner Planner - We came from using WCP all our data was imported and we have found it a breeze to use and I don't think there is any other window cleaning software on the market that currently offers all of what Cleaner Planner does - anyway thats enough of me waffling I have copied in admins post below - Take a look!!!
Hi Guys,
Great news - Cleaner Planner is now live!
You can contact Rob directly at rob@cleanerplanner.com or chat on his own sub forum by clicking here!
A message from Cleaner Planner can be seen below:

Window Cleaning Programme
-
Hi wfp,
Good question :)
It's a web-based software application for managing your window cleaning business. Helps you get more organised, optimise your business and save time.
You can organise your rounds, customers, jobs and scheduling, keep track of debts (and chase them via SMS), print out worksheets (or download them to your iPhone) and "much, much more".
It works in a similar way to software such as Window Cleaner Pro and George if you've ever used either of those, except that it's web-based so there's no software to install, it runs on Macs and iPads, and I'm constantly tweaking and improving it based on user feedback.
The following thread gives a bit more background to the development of Cleaner Planner (and me) for those who are interested!
http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=175653.0
Happy to answer any further questions you may have - thanks for reading!

I would like to +1 to what smudger has stated, personaly I have used a few diffent programs and this one by far is the best I have used, if you have used wcpro and liked the simplicity then this is the software for you! We have been using this for a little while now and it really is worth a look.
I have spoken to Rob the developer both by email and by phone, he seems a nice guy and quick to respond to any issues we have had.
I am looking forward to the next stage of this program, that brings payroll and sage into the equation.
Check it out!!
-
Smudge, we too have been using WCP for a number of years, and recently switched over to CP.
Why change?
Well, for a number of reasons really. The main one being we have outgrown it. Not outgrown it in terms of numbers, but in terms of its capability to do what we want/need it to do. The developers are no longer developing the program, and it's clear to see times have moved on in terms of accessibility, data storage, etc. the support was simply not there, and my business was locked into WCP, which is not good when it goes down and I can't get any answers.
Why CP?
Having spoken with Rob, the developer, at length, many times, by phone or email, giving him numerous requests and feedback, there was no hesitation for me to sign up.
Rob has bent over backwards to accommodate my requests, tweaking many times, adding features, and benefits, as he was listening to the needs of not only me, but the other testers.
What is so good about CP?
First off, the seamless transition, pulling in all the data from WCP, including schedules, debts, frequencies etc.
It's really intuitive, dead easy to use, and the interface is simple to get to grips with.
It's packed with useful features, and more to come, such as auto invoicing, bulk SMS delivery, mobile app, and more that I can't think of right now. Safe to say there's been a few moments where I've thought "this feature would be handy" and CP already does it.
It allows multiple users, which is great as it can be used on any device with internet access, something WCP couldn't do, so before a holiday, it would take me days of scheduling work, printing sheets etc, whereas now, it's minutes, and then I allocate the worksheet to the operatives, and they can access it on the app. Saves paper, time and stress.
Ok, rambling on a bit now...
Can thoroughly recommend it, and if anyone has any questions, fire away!
-
having been using cleaner planner for a number months now I would agree with all of the above, nothing more to say really that will top whats been said. Its a great piece of software that does many things and really easy to use and the layout is simple but really effective for me the main monthly planner and bulk sms is brilliant. I would also highly recommend the back up support Rob provides.
-
If i was to sign to cleaner planner it would cost £25 a month What do you get that aworka cant offer for just £10 a month?.
-
Mind you the ultimate package does look appealing and worth an extra cost, any idea of costings yet?. And how would the vehicle tracking work?? I lle the sound of that.
-
Hi Mick,
Key things right now are:
SMS - you can send SMS directly from Cleaner Planner (no need to use a separate app) to send reminders (e.g. "we're cleaning your windows tomorrow") and chase debts with a couple of clicks.
GoCardless integration - Kick off and track GoCardless payments directly from Cleaner Planner (again without having to log in to GoCardless separately).
iOS & Android apps - Simple, easy to use mobile worksheeting that works offline, so it's fast and you don't need to worry about 3G signal while out and about.
Not to mention email invoicing, bulk email (via Mailchimp), multi-user support with ability to assign worksheets to operatives so it's all they see in the app, and much more.
There are literally 100's of little tweaks and improvements we've made over the last 6 months based on user feedback and will continue to do.
Cleaner Planner is all about listening to what people want from their software and constantly moving the game forward.
And yes - advanced features such as vehicle tracking and accounting integration very much in the pipeline. Currently gauging interest to see what people really want out of an "Ultimate" package so a bit early to talk costs. However, pricing is something I happily take input on from users on along with everything else :)
Thanks,
Rob
-
Also worth bearing in mind for the sake of comparison that the other software option you mentioned costs £10 per user.
With Cleaner Planner Pro you can have as many users (operatives) as you need (e.g. using the mobile app, completing their own worksheets) for no extra cost.
-
I would try it but for one guy on his own if it's £25 a month then that's just too expensive in my opinion.
-

its not really if you look at it as a couple of houses a month covers the cost, its less then a £1 a day

agree with you dave.
Not saying it's good but £25 a month for a 1 man band.
I even think Aworka too dear at £10 a month.
George for me.
I'l just have to use my phone to send the odd text 2 mins a night for text's £300 a year saved ;D
-

+1
I'm out.
-
I've got the free trial of Aworka at the moment, if the price was the same I'd love to have a look but it's more than double - why?
George was brilliant for me for seven years - so easy to use and clear. Aworka doesn't have the same clarity or simplicity so far - early days yet but so much of it just doesn't sink in to my dense skull ;D
Mind you I've now got windows 8 too (god what a load of crap!)
-
This is a really difficult call for me as a sole trader.
I was part of the early testing group but I lost interest if I'm honest. I used George for 5 years before going over to Aworka and I guess I'm just happy with it
That said Rob was always asking what would make it better than what was currently available and has listened to everybody that gave him input.
As for the cost, yes it may only be 1 or 2 extra houses a month, but there are cheaper and even free alternatives. Ultimately, the cost is affordable if the product is what you want or need.
If he can maintain his current level of customer service and keep up with any tweaks, he will do very well.
I certainly hope he does.
Tony
-
No for a 1 man band its £15 a month but the package looks pure basic.
-
I would guess though that most sole traders would want the pro package for all the other bits that come with it, other than the multiple user part, which would then mean £25.
-
Ok, so, £25 is too expensive?
The way I look at it, is, how much time does it save me?
To justify £25 outlay would have to save me very little time a month.
The facts are, this system saves me an hour a day easily, so putting that into context...say 25-30 hours a month? I value my time at way more than £1 an hour, as I'm sure you guys do.
Another perfect example is the Gardiners S2 which controls our water production. It paid for itself in a week due to the time it saved me.
That's my logic, saves me time, stress, and money, it's a winner.
Won't be for everyone, as some people would rather the money in their pocket, and that's their choice.
-
Aworka ticks all those boxes for me.

How does it save you time, that george or aworka can not do
-
Maybe a cheaper option with less features for 1 man bands then?
Then the pro version for people with more operatives :)
-
Forget what i said above as i didn't check the site out before typing haha
-
I've been on the cleaner planner beta aswell and made a good input as to what I think I needed and rob was always and remains a good listener and most importantly he implements the changes and tweaks needed.
I was on aworka at the time cleaner planner first started and have to say the difference between cleaner planner and ALL it's competitors is HUGE.
My ideal software needed to have:
Drag and drop planner was vital.
Bulk text messages for access and debts. Including pre scheduled text option.
Gocardless integration which IMHO is the way forward in payments.
Multiple user options with admin controls. They see only what you decide which is the daily worksheet they need..
Android/iOS app for operators tablet and daily worksheet. No need to input data after from paper sheets just review data synced and submit it. That for me is an hour a day off my family life alone. Which is worth way more than £20/£25 a month.
As a multiple user operator it's good value at the prices mentioned as aworka is £10 per user . When I add a 3rd van to my cleaner planner account this year it will be a bargain in my opinion. An absolute steal to be honest . A piece of software that organises 3 vans works and texts and sorts debts and payments and keeps paperwork down to a minimum for £20/£25 . Multi van businesses are you for real .?.
I'm really keen on the coming sage payroll implementation and the really interesting van tracking option that is needed for a small business to keep us ahead of the game and I rest assured rob will do all he can to make it absolutely perfect.
As a point of reference I was in Tenerife Xmas and used my ipad to operate the business daily as cleaner planner was in early progress by texting customers the day before and issuing worksheets whilst I was on my sunbed inless than one hour and using 3GS lol. And I will do the same this year in way less time as all the features are there now.
If you are serious about your business and expanding it to its potential and want to offer a first class overall service & make it really simple then in my honest opinion you are missing out by not understanding and using cleaner planner
I'm sure rob is all ears with regards one man bands as he is interested in getting all cleaners on the software at the right price on a consistent basis as we expect from our customers on a regular basis,. I to be honest can't wait to the next level:
Tracked vans per round.
Gocardless payments.
Lower wages, higher incentives.
Less call backs on front onlys.
Less fuel costs.
More productivity.
Happy employees.
-
After reading through the cleaner planner site & carls post I'm very interested in this software and will be signing up shortly ;D
-
Wish this had been released 6 months ago when we were looking at changing software :'(
Now with Aworka which is fine but needs some improvements so I hope Chris is reading this thread and taking notes ;) ;D
-
As said before it's too expensive for the sole worker. The basic programme misses the options that Aworka all ready has at a cheaper price.
For the bigger businesses it sounds great.
-
But the £25 per month would be a business expense, hence tax deductible.
Roy
-
SAJ - maybe give CP a whirl alongside Aworka on the free trial - yes it may mean you are duplicating your admin works for a couple of weeks, but I am sure you would find CP excellent, I know your business mould (as we ahev emailed in the past) is similar to ours.
Also the go cardless integration is FAB and a bi g time saver for any people using GC as an option, it literally is a click well maybe 2 clicks! To claim payment, no need to log into GC each time its all automated, and when its paid it auto takes it off your debt list, I am a big fan of cleaner planner - and it saves me lots of time but I have over 100 on GC and am pushing this lots going forward and I was truly surprised just how much time this one feature saves me.
Also we love the option of bulk email, newsletters to customers to offer promotions etc.
Every business is different and every need is different, WCP planner did what we needed, but it did not do what we WANTED, and that is where CP (and Rob) have been great, its really been designed by window cleaners.
I would highly recommend people to at least try the free trial and get a feel for it, we wouldn't be without it now.
and another big PLUS is Rob's support if you are not sure or get stuck HE IS THERE!!! It really is a very user friendly program.
-
It maybe a business expense but is it a necessary one?
Yes it sounds good for those that employ.
But for 1 man bands i think it is too expensive.
If you really wanted to you could use a diary, pen and paper which most have in the past.
I have paid a one off fee of £50 and i pay the internet backup fee of £15 i think it is a year.
That's enough for me i believe as a small business that i should keep a diligent eye on expenses.
As said i am sure the guy who made cleaner planner has done a great job.
Lee
-

Roy
True, but to run it to it's full extent you'll need a smartphone too so add another £30 odd a month on top of that. Tax deductable doesn't mean free.

+1
£180.00 a year or £15.00 for something that does same.
From what i have seen i think the multi operators will benefit from this programme more than the one man band, i appreciate if you are sitting in an office most of the time looking after 3 vans etc this will save time with a lot of the integration it offers with other systems, go cardless etc but imo for a one man outfit george or even aworka will suffice, so i think i will save my £180 and buy a new GIMP mask ;D

I'm with you on this, Aworka seems ok but the support and improvements seem lacking. Maybe it's a get what you pay for thing? My biggest fear with this software packages is the longevity of it, including it's support and upgrades. This is all but pointless without it.

My only gripe with Aworka is the server speed. It's like going back to dial up. Sometimes it doesn't respond at all.

Hi Fin, funny how different options can be I would say Chris provides excellent support and has continued to develop and improve the program.

Hi John, I can only speak of my experience to date with Aworka. I sent Chris an email on the 12th with various questions and so far I have not recieved a reply. Like I said to me it's important if you want to use a database system such as these is that the support and improvements are there continuously for as long as you are paying for the service. Regarding Aworka on the app I find it basic. IMO it should almost replicate the online service, you cannot even enter a new job and the 'coming
Soon' banner which is on the new job icon has been there since I have had the app. I hope one of these systems does the lot.

Fin - definatley trial CP - it does it all, the support is great, and if you have an improvement rob will implement really quickly too - have you signed up for the trial - well worth a play x

Thanks Smudger.
Fin - Please feel free to drop me a note if you're curious about CP and what it can offer that (perhaps) your current software doesn't (and also about what's in the pipeline :))

Sums it up perfectly.
After all, that's what earns you the money.

What are people using for the app?
I dont mind it on iphone, however a couple of the lads find it a bit difficult to use, as with paper, they can scan where they are headed, and work out their routes, and see notes at a glance.
Anyone using tablets? Looking into cheap tablets, purely to save time from working on the smaller screens.
-
7" tablet is the way to go I think. Nice compromise between mobile and full tablet. The guys will be able to fit a lot more jobs on the screen making scanning their workload much more feasible.
I believe Carl @ CWC is using cheapish 7" Android tablets with good results - perhaps he'll chip in and tell us what model he went for.
-
Rob, will you be adding a notes facility onto the mobile app ;)
-
What data sources can Cleaner Planner import from?
George ?
Aworka ?
Window Cleaner Pro ?
Andy
-
Smudger - Yep, just been discussing this with Simon @ Concept as well. Looking like a must have now so going to get this in place by the end of the week.
Andy - We can import from all 3 :) Which do you currently use? If you've signed up for the trial simply email me the backup or export and I'll get it imported for you: rob@cleanerplanner.com
-
Aworka does the job for me as a single user i would not make the switch to Cleaner Planner i would have to pay £25.00 a month to be able to email invoices . Mike
-
aworka will email invoices, and aworka will invoice automatically through the night if you switch it on in the mobile app

How would this work? (I am not very techy) ???
Would all the data be visible all day on one of these things? or do they have a mobile connection? If not how would it update the main database?
sorry if i sound stupid ;D
-
Hi Steve,
Not stupid at all :)
Basically you create your worksheet(s) as normal in Cleaner Planner.
Then before you head out in the morning you "Download worksheet(s)" to the your phone or tablet (e.g. via WiFi - you don't even need 3G).
All your jobs for the day (including notes and balances) are then available on your phone or tablet while you're out an about.
Again, no need to worry about 3G signal and everything is instant as you're not tethered to the net. No waiting around for the thing to load while time is money ;)
Then when you get home (or for multis - when the operative gets back to base) you / they simply "Upload changes" from the app and all your charges, payments etc appear in central CP.
Review the worksheet, submit and you're done.
Any further Q's just give me a shout - rob@cleanerplanner.com

I like this idea, I am currently thinking of trying Cleaner Planner so this would be good for my vans.
I was thinking I would have to use smart phones but this is a much better idea as phones are yet another monthly outlay.
Anyone got any recommendations for a good cheap tablet that's idiot proof. ( i am sure my lads wouldn't mind me saying that lol)
-
Hi Neil - Yep, was hoping Carl @ CWC would jump in with his top cheap tablet tip but I think he's snowed under at the minute!
Didn't think of that but yes, cost saving is another key advantage of not needing 3G (I'd been focused on it being quicker, simpler and no need to worry about signal which can be up and down).
Look forward to helping you find your feet with the trial. The app is a big time-saver for multis as it takes the end of day data entry off you :)

Just worked out... this will save me about 9 hours each week. Bargain!

Look forward to it Neil - cheers!

whilst we are talking about saving time, Neil (and anyone else) IF you use Go Cardless as a way of payment, we have onver 100 in this method now, it really HIT me whilst involved in the beta testing just HOW MUCH time this feature saved me - literally 2 clicks (no typing!) and money had been claimed - to behonest I love all the features - but I was totally surprised at how much GC feature really did save.
I would go as far to say, that as a business even if you didn't want/need some of the features CP offers, if Go Cardless is a good percentage of your monies then CP for that feature alone would be worth it.

Not cheap if you need 4 of them :(
There are some on eBay around the £30 mark, which I might take a flier on.

Not so cheap by the time you've dealt with the problems you're risking, I suspect.

Kobo arc could be alternative choice if you wish with 10hrs battery life
otherwise nexus 7 (7 hrs battery life) older version can be picked up for the same money.
Both seem to be going between £80-100.
If your staff have smartphones just get them anker chargers
under £20 each as a backup. We haven't had any issues with smartphones.
Hope this helps. :)

what about an Ipad 1? they go for about £100-£150 on ebay. those things are pretty robost arnt they?
-
were looking to come off wcp but 25 a month is a little out the way for us so going to use awok I think
-
Hi Susan,
Three reasons to consider Cleaner Planner anyway:
1. We can import from WCP which I don't think Aworka can (but I could be wrong!) bear in mind WCP has no export facility.
2. Cleaner Planner works in a similar way to WCP so you'll find the scheduling and worksheet side of things very familiar, but it's all wrapped up in a modern, easy to use interface.
3. At £15 our "Starter" package does everything WCP and Aworka does and you can run multiple vans off printed sheets. If you decide to go for "Pro" later to get SMS, GoCardless etc then it's a better deal if you do need more than one user. 2 users on Aworka = £20, 3 users = £30, 4 users = £40... On CP it's flat £25 per operator (though we may cap this for new sign-ups at some point).
Look forward to discussing your needs and walking you through the trial if you're curious - rob@cleanerplanner.com

I could live with 15 a month that's fine but being usless on a p.c I would have to take it to a shop to get a boffin to change it all over would a shop boffin be able to do this without any trouble ? oh and do you take 0ne off payments I don't do direct debits
-
You'd simply send me your WCP backup (I can walk you through that) and I'd load it up for you on Cleaner Planner (only this boffin required and no charge for the import!)
Once it's loaded up on Cleaner Planner it's web-based so no further IT worries. If you've got a broadband connection and can get on to Google and Facebook you're set.
It's got to be a monthly charge really (same for Aworka) to support ongoing development and support (you may have noticed the one off fee for WCP hasn't exactly panned out).
Not planning to do yearly upfront as personally I don't feel comfortable tying people in, especially if you're new to the system and still considering options.

Hello,
Rob imported all of our WCP and it was really quite seamless - TBH Susan, if you like the WCP feel/layout, then you will really like CP as its very similar - it is very very user friendly and I would rec'd having a go on the free trial let Rob duplicate your info across and then for a few days you would run both you would soon get the feel of it - and the great thing is that Rob really responds quickly if you have a query too.
On the payment front we have signed up on a re-curring card payment, which you can stop at any time - remember on CP all your data is backed up in the cloud, BUT you can export it easily at the click of a button if you would like a "paper copy"
Give the trial a whirl....

At £15.00 a month it does less than Aworka which is £10:00 . Mike

no single/multiple texting for gates and debts= at least 1/2 hr a day = x 28 days = £ ? (its 2/3 clicks and gone for however many custies are on the schedule )
i sat on my decking on the west coast last weekend on bank holiday monday turning my steak over on the barbie with a bottle of beer in my hand ( after 8pm btw as i do not drink until after that time) and sent the texts via Cleanerplanner and i fully intend on doing the same this week lol.
I'm using 2 cheap tablets as worksheets :http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310896516917?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
in all honesty i will buy samsung galaxy tabs next as they are not brilliant but do the job albeit slowly and clunky and i like the best kit available to do a job.
all cleaner planner has left to do is?
vehicle tracking to round and optimise.

Rob
In order of fairness I think you should retract your aworka comparison, your pricing model is not the same, aworka provides full access and full support to each user yours does not.
Aworka at £10 does provide multiple operator functionality in the form of rounds (similar to how George worked).
John
-
Hi John,
With the £15 starter package you get full access to all the essential scheduling features.
You don't get access to SMS, GoCardless and bulk email, but Aworka doesn't offer these at all.
Our starter package also provides multiple operator capability in the form of rounds (similar to George and Aworka).
You could run a 5 van business off the £15 package if you're happy with printed worksheets.
If you need multiple users (within one business) then you can currently add as many as you want (under one account) for a flat fee of £25 a month on the Pro package.
For that reason I believe Cleaner Planner is a better deal for the (single business) multiple operator than Aworka (3 users would be £30, 5 users would be £50).
Moreover at that price point you actually get something *more* with Cleaner Planner - time-saving features that will help you grow and optimise your business.
That all said I appreciate Aworka is currently a better fit for franchisors such as yourself.
Early days on the front but I'm currently getting input on what would work best both from a functionality and pricing point of view.
Rob
-
BUT you cant email invoices on the £15.00 a month package so why pay more than www.aworka.com . Mike
-
will cleaner planner keep your history from aworker when exported ? like your earnings up till now etc,
also will it keep your rounds seperate ?
-
oh and rob, on my ipad it only views sites in there full version so would i need 3g with this device? or could i still use your offline version
-
M&M - True, I may tweak this a little to even things up - watch this space. Worth noting that Cleaner Planner lets you email from your business email (using your SMTP settings) so your invoices appear to come from your business rather than the software. Also there's the option to show customer balance, set custom footer text, payment terms etc.
Michael - Hi, we can't import your transactions unfortunately but that's par for the course when moving to new software. You'd need to take an export from Aworka and keep this for reference purposes. We can of course import your debts as well as your rounds, jobs, customers, schedules, last done dates, price change dates etc.
Two options for the iPad. You can use the full site over WiFi or 3G (e.g. to work from home, look up job history while out and about etc). The offline app is very much designed for use while out cleaning windows and time is money. It's simple, fast and much more minimal and task oriented. Just the info you need to get the job done, big buttons to mark jobs as done, missed paid etc.
So basically you can switch between the two depending on what you're doing :)
-
Rob
Thank you for the clarification, as I see it....
Single user: George £50 (one off payment) Aworka £10 p/m, CP £15 p/m
They all provide operators with round scheduling, expense management and mobile functionality albeit if different ways.
Multi user: CP £25 p/m unlimited users, Aworka £10 p/m per user
Quite different in functionality
CP: restricted access for all additional users, a logical extension to the single user package for those that employ and where users only require access to round scheduling
Aworka full access and support for all users, more suited to those that franchise.
No doubt given time both Aworka & CP will offer similar packages in functionality and price, support would appear to be excellent in both camps as it was and I understand still is at George.
It reminds me of when WCP emerged, lots of people could not understand why George did not suffice but for some WCP was a superior product.
I think competition is a good thing, it drives innovation and price.
I wish you both every success.
-
Hi Rob i much prefer i template invoice such as offered by Aworka as it means when i have finished a commercial job i can email the client immediately using my phone before i drive to my next job. Mike
-
John - Thanks, yes - I think that about sums it up! Franchise support is definitely on the way though and franchisees will get full access to their own Cleaner Planner (as operators of their own business). Depending on how the franchisor plays it the franchisee would potentially be able to decide whether the Starter or Pro is best for their individual franchise. Or the franchisor could decide for them (e.g. if they emphasise SMS and GoCardless integration as key advantages of the overall franchise package). As I say I'm currently taking input on what would work best.
And just to confirm - single user does not have to mean sole trader. You can run multiple vans / rounds on the starter package if you're happy with printed sheets (same as Aworka, George and WCP).
Mike - CP uses an invoice template as well, you just have some ability to customise it (and more flexibility in the pipeline). You can print or email invoices from the debt list for work done (on your iPad over 3G while out and about if that suits), or you can prepare and print all your invoices for the day ahead in one shot with a single click of the "Print invoices" button on the worksheet before you hit the road.
-
Rob
Looking at this from a franchisee or single user view point i.e. no intention of employing then I will be paying an additional £15 p/m (£180 p/y) for the benefit of go cardless and text integration, in addition to which I will have a text cost of around £12 p/m (£144 p/y) (based on 15 jobs per day, 5 days per week, 46 weeks per year and 4.5p per text).
So the cost of text integration at this point would be in the region of £27 p/m (£324 p/y) is that correct?
John
-
Hi John,
The cost of SMS, GoCardless and Mailchimp (bulk email) integration would be an additional £15 per month compared to Aworka, yes.
However, texts are a separate cost and one you would incur regardless of the software you use.
Moreover, without SMS integration you are wasting time (and therefore money) manually sending texts or keeping your software in sync with your text provider.
The net result, I believe, is a considerable saving that scales up for multiple operators. It's hard to put a number on the saving here but Carl @ CWC kindly took a stab at it:
no single/multiple texting for gates and debts= at least 1/2 hr a day = x 28 days = £ ? (its 2/3 clicks and gone for however many custies are on the schedule )
Depends on what £ value you put on your time?
Rob

How do import my data ? Thanks

Have you signed up for the trial? Either way pop your export over to me and I'll get you set up - rob@cleanerplanner.com

There seems to be a lot of people criticizing Cleaner Planner without even trying it...
To me at first glance it looks very good... I've signed up to the FREE trial, once my data is imported I'm going to run Cleaner Planner alongside the current software that I use for 45 days - If I prefer Cleaner Planner (and it justifies the extra cost) I will switch to that, if I prefer to stick to my current software I will stick with that - simple!
That's what trials are for... It's best to try it before passing judgement!
Andy ;)
-
Thanks Andy - just imported your data and look forward to helping you get the most out of the trial so you can make an informed decision :)

Rob,
As a franchisor i was litertally just about to pay for the Aworka subscription for my first franchisee, it seems that according to John Willan , who i know is an aworka subscriber there are certain features that for the user/franchisee CP does not have , can you tell me what they are and also when and if they will be included in CP.
In addition i operate a multi van company. If i wanted to use CP for both my franchise network and my company how would this work.
-
Hi Rogue,
Pop me an email - I'm currently firming this up based on feedback and would value yours :)
rob@cleanerplanner.com
From a technical point of view, the key thing CP doesn't have yet is a franchisor admin screen, where you can oversee and manage franchisee accounts.
However, this shouldn't be too much work and I'm getting a lot of interest from franchisors (rather took me by surprise if I'm honest!) so this is likely something I will get in place very quickly.
Shouldn't be too much work. I already have an admin screen where I manage operator accounts, so it will basically be a case of giving franchisors access to this panel (but obviously only showing their franchisees).
Also need to give a bit of thought as to what franchisors need from reporting - again, that's where your input would come in handy :)
Hope to hear from you.
Rob

Surely the whole attraction of Aworka and Cleaner Planner are the mobile work sheets? The ability to work from your phone or tablet. This is why I have just trialled Aworka.
Cleaner Planner as far as I understand it doesn't offer the mobile option unless you get the pro version at £25 a month. If you were to match Aworka on that score then I'd love to have a look.
-
Aworka although pretty good still seems under developed in my opinion it just isn't finished yet. The mobile version is pretty disappointing to my untrained eyes -only three days of planner available (yesterday, today and tomorrow). Editing is long winded and deleting jobs out of the system impossible for the user.
Basically I want George on my mobile or tablet - that format is so brilliantly simple and plain to look at even I can almost understand it
-
You'd simply send me your WCP backup (I can walk you through that) and I'd load it up for you on Cleaner Planner (only this boffin required and no charge for the import!)
Not planning to do yearly upfront as personally I don't feel comfortable tying people in, especially if you're new to the system and still considering options.
you don't take one off payments ??? hang on a pay foreverything on the nose even my new vans are bought with a swipe of a card , yet I cant pay you a one off !!!! is that you john wanye
also wcp was stopped in its tracks due to window cleaners not wanting to pay so there was no money to go any further ,
now that you have managed to turn half the fourm away from your service buy out priceing yourself to your biggest market (one man bands and people like me that don't like debt) I would say that's not the best start to your new system is it

surely you can pay £25 x 12?? ???
I do think he's priced a lot of people out of the market as did WCP and had to start selling support packs at £60 a year to help get more money.. which didnt work.
You can pay one year up full in aworka and it works out at £8 per month, All chris has to do now is follow what cleaner planner has done over next few months and hes onto a winner at £10 per month ;D
Its what George done when WCP was realized ... done most of the features WCP had put into there program in a more simple format ;D

-
Ok I'll take a look at it. See what it's all about.
-
I have never liked the Aworka mobile app and dislike its lack of function , I much prefer using the full version on my Iphone and find it just as easy to use and navigate as easily as doing it on my laptop .
I can email invoices after completing jobs and chase up debts my invoice late payers whilst sat in my truck having me lunch and just dont see the point off the mobile app .
The full site is mobile friendly so for me their is no contest and any queries or mistakes i have made have been answered and sorted by chris almost instantly,
For all that www.aworka.com offers £10.00 a month is a bargain IMHO . Mike
-
Does anyone how to create a back up of aworka onto a memory stick,
Please advise as I'm a bit thick with these modern gadgets
-
you can use the export function, or you can email chris either way its really simple
-
Rob, this system sounds brilliant.
I need to re organise my business into two rounds. Could this system assist with that?
Basically, need to import from George and split everything into 6 weekly and another round of 8 weekly.
-
Hi Lee,
Absolutely.
If you sign up for the free trial and pop me your latest George backup I can import your jobs into one main round initially.
Then, using the Move to Round button in Cleaner Planner you simply check the jobs and move them to the new round with a couple of clicks.
There's also a Bulk Edit tool so you can modify schedules (e.g. switch to 6/8 weekly), opt multiple customers in for SMS reminders etc in one go.
Any further questions just give me a shout :)

I am currently signed up with Aworka, Aworka does most of what I require as a franchisor but does need to offer custom reports as mentioned above, I can't see it happening anytime soon, If Cleaner Planner can offer a package for the franchisor I would defo consider changing
Matt, Couldn't get back to you the other week due to binning old mobile hence lost your number and message, I still have same number just a different phone
-
Hi Steve,
Currently taking input (functionality + packaging) on the franchising front from both new and experienced franchisors if you're interested in helping get this right for yourself and other franchisors? Please get in touch if so - rob@cleanerplanner.com. Otherwise please do watch this space - I'll be announcing details over the next couple of weeks once everything's firmed up.
Rob
-
Hi Steve, hopefully you will see Robs reply, we were heavily involved (along with some others) in the beta and development with rob on CP, and I cannot recommend highly enough how great Rob is to work with, he will listen to your ideas and preferances and do his very best to get a franchise set up to suit how YOU work, deffo worth investing a bit of time with him and get something you can work with . He works fast .
-
Smudger, I will defo send some ideas over to Rob, Rob seems to respond quickly to questions and does explain himself well
-
Thanks Steve - look forward to it.
Spoke to with Matt @ Pure last week and gather there are a few of you (in different stages of franchising) looking at options - really keen to make CP a no-brainer for you :)
Technically not too much to do. Seems essentially you need an admin panel where you can set up and oversee franchisee accounts. As I said to Matt I could have this ready in 1-2 weeks.
Then there's the reporting side as you mentioned where your input would be handy. Also pricing in terms of making sure CP is viable and scalable for the franchisor.
Look forward to hearing form you!
-
Hi Rob,
Sounds great.
How long will it take for you to turn around that file for me?
Will see if I can email it over tomorrow.
Hi Lee,

Anyone sorted on the tablet front yet?
-
Hi Lee - I can turn it around in about 10 mins for you. Look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Simon - which ones have you whittled it down to? Samsung Galaxy Tab might be a good option if you are looking to go for a decent brand - prices around the £100 mark so a bit cheaper than the Kindle Fire you were looking at (and I imagine the Kindle will be nagging you left and right to watch pay per view movies on Amazon and whatever!)
-
ive been using a nexus 7 for a few days and has been fine although have gone back to my phone for now as i use the nexus at home and don't really want to get it all dirty or damage it, but i think i'll get a second hand one for CP and work as they are well built and should handle a few knocks etc.
-
Awaiting delivery of Tesco Hudl, looking forward to getting going with the app.
-
I brought one of those really cheap ones from ebay (but review on amazon) only a few days in but it seems fine :) The app is very good and saves me time at the end of the day as all filled in :) Great stuff and it keeps getting better

Nearly every time I go on, something new is on, it's just getting better.
I decided against those cheapies due to the reviews, so £85 for a refurbed Hudl from eBaymseemed a good compromise. Hoping it will arrive today so I can get the supervisor to do everyone's sheets on it. Keen to get the app moving as that will be a huge time saver for me.
-
hi concept,
Yes i brought it then read the reviews, so had little hope, but it is ok so far, I will probably due what you have done and ger a hudl or similar for the other vans, early doors with the app but all good, I am very pleased with the reduced admin at end of day already.
-
Glad the app + tablet is paying dividends :)
I've also been working on some improvements to the worksheet page following feedback that it was running a bit on the slow side when showing lots of jobs (e.g. 50-100). Will soon (probably later today) run much quicker with no delay as you check off jobs as done, missed and paid as I've worked out a way to do the job re-scheduling, balance calculations and auto-saving in the background rather than hold you up. So for those who prefer paper worksheets you'll soon be able to blast through your end of day data entry at whatever pace you can handle ;)

Hello Rob,
Can you tell me about the accounting side of Cleaner Planner. Does it have the capability to print of a VAT return?
-
Some nice little tweaks with the mobile app last week, another good one to come.
No issues to report with Hudl yet for those looking for a reasonable tablet.

Hello Rob,
Can you tell me about the accounting side of Cleaner Planner. Does it have the capability to print of a VAT return?
Hi Inspire - the accounting side is quite similar to WCP, so you have an Accounts tab where you can view daily, weekly and monthly totals charged and collected.
You can also view a profit and loss report with income broken down by service and expenses broken down by category.
You can't generate VAT returns (yet) but the Accounts tab does breakdown by VAT so by setting the date range to your last quarter you should be able to grab the figures you need.
Feel free to drop me an email if you have any further questions or would like me to help you get up and running on the trial - rob@cleanerplanner.com

It's pink.
And? It'll be in a case, kept permanently in the van.
-
Even worse. In the van. For the whole world to see ;D
-
If I was you I would get the refurbished hudles off e bay , bit more expensive but at least you know they are reliable ...and most importantly there not pink :D
-
Hi Deeege - I'd strongly recommend against that one to be honest. It's an older model and non-brand Android's can be iffy and that one's coming from Hong Kong = double iffy ;)
Quite a few of the reviews say it's slow and laggy, exactly what you don't need when trying to get the job done: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/cr/rR1RC7Y00T5BNAX/ref=aw_cr_i_7
I'd go with Paul's suggestion and pick up a refurbished Tesco Hudl. They're a steal at £69 with quad core processor, 7" screen, 16GB memory and Android 4.2 (newer version).
Choice of colours :)

Cheers Rob, a Hudl it will be then, do they sell them in pink!?! ;D

-
You asked previously how much it would be for the basic setup and the answer was £15.00.
