So I bought "George" and am frantically typing in all the custies last weekend and this weekend. I'm three quarters the way through and my eyes hurt. No more today.
I keep telling myself it will save me hours every month in the long run ...
How do you use George? Any useful wrinkles for me?

Does George still look "basic" being all black and white screens ??
Can you bulk email, text, and collect go careless payments from it ?
Like to help out Malc, but the only thing I'd reccomendation is try cleaner planner, rob can bulk export your data for you

If you have all your customer list stored on a file send it to Chris as apparently he can have it migrated into George for you.

Nope.
It works on any version of windows (and Linux using Wine) except Windows Bloatware 8.
You can do backups on line for £12 a year or you can do as I do which is to back George up onto a memory stick.
George is amazing value for £60. I've been using it for about 10 years which works out to 50p a month.

i found that when you upload the customer details to george if you leave out the names and shorten every address to the bare minimum and add the price onto the end of the address [all on just 1 line ] you can print off a whole weeks work ahead onto just 1 or 2 sheets of paper .
this means you can just see at a glance whats what when out working

GOLD the time consuming bit is the actual inputting of customers as your finding out.
once thats done its easy peasy mate.
you can print off daily,weekly,monthly worksheets or if you can find a decent pda download pocket george which is what i use as well.i love it.
its everything you ll need to run your business.dont forget to buy the £12 internet back up and renew it yearly and you ll have no problems.back up after every update.
its so easy to "see" your round at any one time,expenses,profit and how your earnings compare to last years etc
little work notes assigned to individual accounts are also handy
once you ve been using it for a few weeks you ll wonder why you didnt buy it years ago!! :)
