what do you guys use to board out the top of your roof ?as theres a lot of unused space and id like to build a rack to store my poles in nice and tidy!
well happy with the tank fitting!local garage charged me £100 and they had to take exhaust off and fuel tank to fit it.they also took towbar off for me and renewed a leaky injector hose!i gave them an extra tenner as im really happy with the job! ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Gutter piping for your poles
-
The tank looks the wrong way round for the frame you have, what stops the taking pinning you against the dash?
-
its handy having a side door for trad gear/getting fresh cloths etc! :)
this is my spring/summer set up.during the winter months ill fit my heater and hot reel and hose.
i cant believe just how much room there is in these vans!plenty for a sole trader!also the back end doesnt go down much with 450L of water in the back!unlike the kangoo!! :D :D

the frame is solid mate.i wanted it that way round so i could store stuff down both sides of the tank! ;)
-
The frame maybe solid but what's stopping
Flying foreword in a crash
-
Yep the frame's the wrong way round Dazmond. That tank will simply fly through those hoops in a smash. ;D
-
Looks like it could slide back or forward.
-
Nah chicken mesh bulkhead will stop it ;D
-
the top 2 frames over the tank are bolted into the bottom frame with thick heavy bolts and the bottom frame is fixed to van floor with 6 bolts and spreader plates.the tank sits inside the frame.
the frame itself must be 50kg on its own!! ;) :)

it took my poor dad a while to help me lift it into the van!! ;D
-
Got you now it sits inside a frame round the bottom of tank.
-
i love the mesh bulkhead as i can fit my poles in the top no problem at all.love it! ;D
-
You will enjoy trying to fill the space! Im still trying now.
-
where you buy that type of cage?
-
i got it from cleaning warehouse mate. £400 including 500L baffled tank including VAT and delivery.
so it cost me £500 for tank, frame and fitting. ;) :)

No ply lining daz?
You might have a prob with condensation in winter.
-
jonny i took the plylining out.the floor ply was soaked in petrol(from lawnmowers i reckon)and cleaned it all out.
i never had a massive problem with condensation in my kangoo and that had no plylining either.i will get a piece of MDF to mount my heater in winter though for the left hand side near the back doors.

Ah ok. I had condensation prob in my van but ply solved it.
Nice one, it's looking good. Just this year I went from caddy with 350 tank, to hiace with 650 tank. Can't believe I went for so long struggling with 350 litres of water. It's great knowing you've got plenty.
-
yep jonny!500L is plenty for me.i wasnt having to keep an eye on water usage today!in fact i think it speeded me up a bit and i managed to squeeze another couple of jobs in.im a very happy bunny!! :D :D
-
The way the tank is positioned is better that way than the other way around (across)
the van will drive better and the baffle will work better
-
your right dave!im amazed that i dont get a "sloshing" affect when pulling up even with tank 3/4 full!
the tank is a wyedale.very impressed with it to be honest. :)
-
i put some bars across the top on mine and fix gutter downpipes to them i can also fit my step ladders on top too makes great use of the space.

Daz keep the system leak free or you will have very wet feet in the footwells!

If you can get hold of a bit of ply, that'd be better suited Daz.
Or green MDF.
But ply would be better.

I think Daz is having it wrapped next week - might stop any condensation.
