What is "water lift"?  How "water lift" measures?

Hi Arthur.

I don't know for certain, but I think it's a measure of the power of a vacuum motor: the higher the lift the more suction....

Don't know how it's calculated, but then I don't know how horsepower on cars is calculated either...

I imagine it's how far the suction can raise water out of a tank up a vertical pipe before the weight of the water gets too much.

Relative to vacuum cleaners, water lift is a measurement of the strength of the vacuum produced by the suction motor. Suction gauges used on vacuum cleaners are calibrated in "Inches of Water Lift". This is equivalent to taking a vertical tube, placing the bottom in a container of water, attaching the vacuum cleaner hose at the top and measuring how high above the water surface the water in the tube rises. By the way, one cubic inch of water weighs 0.036 pounds so the negative pressure in pounds per square inch can be found by multiplying the water lift by 0.036. If you see suction rated in millibars (mbar), mulitply that number by 0.4 to convert it to inches of water lift.
also the higher above sea level the better the water lift

But then the other companies start talking about I think airflow gets confusing.

airflow is important as the more airflow the quicker the drying time, and without airflow the water lift will not lift there is a balance where one comliments the other  so to speak. speak to nick art solutions about the scorpion which is one of the main factors about it the airflow i am told on the scorpion is better than most truck mounts [ not my words ]
