Title: Tarmac oil stain !
Post by: wpclean on April 03, 2014, 04:24:51 pm
I have been asked to price for a 1m sq oil removal on a 16m sq drive.    I have had a look at the OT8 http://www.oiltechnics.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=A42-855-042.

The problem is I know even after the oil is removed, there will still be a shadow, so I have been looking at the tarmac paints which claim to renovate, and are good for a few years . . . does anyone use these type of paints, and could you recommend one ?

Thank you for any advice.

Yes u will need to re coat the drive. Unless they want it coated I Wundt touch it as u will be left with a lighter patch or still see the stain.  We usually swerve oil leaks on tarmac now.

That looks good stuff Kevin.   I have given them a price for the oil removal, but explained it would still leave a shadow when done.   This is old tarmac, and has grayed, but I told them about the restorer and they are asking for a price.   I really want to try this product, so will see what transpires.

Kevin, how long lasting is the restorer, would like an idea of the durability ?

Thank you.

Hi Kev, that would be good to know how this stuff stands up. I have a drive to clean but the custy was put off with the recolouring (using the smartseal product), do you know how the two compare mate.

OK  Answers to all.

1.  We have tested this and it is very good.  The appearance is great and it leaves a new matt finish!
2.  I haven't tested it against Smartseal
3.  I have no longevity tests as I have only been selling it about 9 months.

What I do have is one guy doing this for a living and he buys this stuff from me by the pallet load and says it is brilliant.
