Evening all, just wondering if you think getting a SLX for staff is spoiling them and unnecessary, or whether you think using a SLX is a good idea because they can work quicker than with a CLX.
I use the extreme myself but am not willing to splash that out on staff!

Pfft give em harris poles!
the difference is minimal in cost.
SLX all the way.

does an slx have go faster stripes.?

for the 18ft the price of the sly is double but the weight is the same so not sure there can be that much difference

tbh a lot of the flex comes from the clamping area, and if your only using 18ft poles there will be less flex than a bigger pole with more clamps so in this comparrison at 18ft with only 2 clamping sections i would go with the clx

okand upto 25ft used all day, is the difference still quite insignificant?
thanks for your replies

Haven't used the new SLX27, the old one is poor when extended compared to a CLX of similar size. Anything up to SLX22 is perfectly acceptable for employee, I'm using it daily to save the wear on old CLX as I'm not prepared to pay around 60 quid for new clamps.

I used the clx22 for about 3 years but when I finally replaced it I went for slx22 and yes you do notice the difference in rigidity but as you have pointed out only a minimal weight saving. Again the differences are probably more extreme with the bigger poles?

Ok, from the sounds of it it may not be worth the extra money for the SLX. Worst comes to worst if they really struggle I'll buy a SLX and keep the CLX as a spare. Thanks for your advice chaps

Just noticed my blunder, mixed up slx and clx. using clx22 daily and saving slx for higher work, chap that works for me uses the clx27 I wouldn't use it as there is more effort involved. Yet to find out how the durability is on my new clx22 bought it in December only been using it since feb. The old clx27 wore down to quick before upgrading the clamps so hoping to see a big difference.
