Title: Cleaned all my new customers today in sw1!
Post by: roundbuilder on March 30, 2014, 10:18:41 pm
What a day!
First job was to do claire sweeneys house, she was the perfect customer, she made me a drink and just let me get on with the clean saying how if i did a good job that 4 of her friends/neighbours would use me that day too so i spent extra time doing hers!
She was chuffed to bits with the outcome and gave me a £20 tip on top of the £50 i charged her and also said to do them 4 weekly instead of 8(happy days) then she gave me the 4 addresses who also want a window cleaner who all lived in the same 3 roads surrounding so i did them and all the other cleans i had booked in from the other houses i got throughout the week whilst on top of that gaining 3 other cleans who saw me working which i did today and another 4 that i will be doing in 4 weeks time as ran out of water and time, i wont say what i earnt for the day as i will look like a lier but what i will say is this has been my highest earning day on domestics ever totaling near on in a day that i take in a week!.
All from 3 days canvassing and cleaning them on a sunday gaining new cleans seeing me work where they were home.
This alone is 1 of the reasons i choose to canvass and not leaflet as the results gained were just awesome and simply not achievable via leaflets in such a short time.
The work is out there lads!!!go and get it.  ;D

Pimlico on a warm Sunday and earning the best you've ever done in a day and Claire Sweeney - it don't come much better.

Well done mate but I'd never work Sundays no matter how much money was on offer

Sundays can be the best day of the week workwise. I've picked up some of the best work I've got on a Sunday.

Definitely post of the year lol

Someone should invite her on here. She could be the forum babe. Post regular weather updates. See if it's forecast chilly or not.

Didn't you even try. You could have 'squirted' her with your 'pole'. Given her a demo and explained how it worked. Meanwhile fiendishly loosening your pole hose and letting it spray all over her tight white t-shirt she was undoubtedly wearing on this warm spring day.

I dont understand this problem with working on sundays,a fair
proportion of people work sundays these days shops pubs places
for kids etc,why should window cleaning be any different if you so
should wish.

Maybe we should go back to the dark ages of boring sundays
when bugger all was open, dad was in the pub or cleaning his
motor, mom was cooking and cleaning and as a kid if you werent playing
footie, you were bored poopless with the three channels on the Tv and there
was no where to go ;D

I don't work Sundays. Not won't.
I only work a 4 day week. Thursdays, Saturday & Sunday off.
If I'm not gonna finish my month, the days off get worked. Simples.
I've only had to work one Thursday in 2014 so far.
Weekends off are nice. But time with the family isn't limited to the weekend.

What so wrong or odd about working on a Sunday?

I've got a life.

I'm not sad.

Added to which, if I chose to work on a Sunday, I don't need anyones approval.

If Mick Kent has decided the best day to do that job, then what's so strange?

That's fabulous mick the only thing I wAna say is

I know the mentality of those sort of customers in those sort of post codes
I'm surprised you seem really exited that these people will actually be perfect regular customers a man of your expirience come on how many times have we heard all those promises we all want it regular etc
And in those areas its normally a bit worse

All the truths come out after the first clean its when all that dirt is off when the excuses start coming or when we find out who's serious and who isn't

But fingers crossed I hope they stick for you
And well done its all about the money as you said you had a great day
And you're bound to get some relgular
so I'm not saying this to dishearten you but I'd be intrested to know how they cooperate on the repeat cleans as I kinda gave up on those customers so demanding after first clean and extreamly dictating on times and skipping without a care in the world

Cheers mate,
Sunday is the best day for the area i cleaned as no trafic wardens or parking issues to face, i only do 2 sundays every 8 weeks but those sundays are always worth it.
I have a family, i have a life and also i work the odd sunday which i do for my family putting extra bread on the table.  ;D

Correct,  Ross.
I don't get all this 'get a life' nonsense.  Ok, if weekends are the only time you get to spend time with you family. But everyone's family life is different. Can't you have a life on weekdays?
Another thing is, if some people are that against working Sunday then perhaps they should get another job or life.
I enjoy my job, on the whole, and it wouldn't matter what the day was called, I'd still enjoy it.

You keep saying negative things like this,  i have cleaned this area for near 3 years now and have many good accounts there many being every 8 weeks i havnt done a canvass there for 2 years and this particular week of knocks has been more than worth it for me.
I ditched loads that seemed messers over the last few years who picked and chose when i would do them as it made me feel like a slave to them but all in all its a cracking little area..

Im not knocking 10 million plus houses round eaton square or sloan square, this is pimlice tside conjestion zone where the poorer millionaires live alongside a lot of council flats (the peabody estate).

Oh you've already got some established there , poor millionaires hahah
Still though its good to see you this motivated I get really annoyed with the establishing side of things especially when I know the crap that you need to go through on these sort of jobs and when I have a full round , I used to work weekends to establish more but all I made myself was loads of admin and booking rather then the "we just turn up" so I havnt had the motivation to work weekends for ages
Take my hat off to you I know everything's possible with hard work I just get so ped off knowing there's gona be a few blatant lyers lol

I did a job today as well that is a long standing 3 hour long 3 monthly job in Greenwich in a cul de sac next to the park. Sunday is the only day the customers are home and they pay well.

I'd have to be an idiot to say oh no, sorry, I don't work Sundays as it's make me a sad, sad person who needs to get a life. I earn in a few hours what I normally earn in a day or more.

Also, working in the City of Westminster during the week is a nightmare. It's a nightmare getting there, a nightmare parking, and a nightmare driving away from the job. On Sunday's, it's generally a very different story.

I have no problem working on a Sunday.  I used to do it on residentials quite a bit  when I was busier.  The only residential I do now on a Sunday is a house where they have counselling clients visit during the week and need to preserve confidentiality.  Having said that, I do a fair bit of commervcial on a Sunday.  In general, I try to compress them into one Sunday per month so that I get other Sundays off.  Sometimes though it's too much for one Sunday (i.e. those months where the monthly, bi-monthly and quarterlies coincide twice a year) so when I see that coming, I bring some of it forward to the Saturday.  I do take some time off in the week to get a bit of rest.  As I live on my own, there aren't any family issues about this.

I don't work Sundays as a general rule, but if I had any work which required doing so, or I needed to catch up, and had made  arrangments with my customers first, then I would.

And I have a life. And I am not sad.   :)

Oh, and to you Mick Kent, well done!
