cleaned a carpet for someone after a party, took mascara stains out and all sorts and the carpet looks nice and clean again but where the sick was left for days and soaked in my efforts to remove the smell have failed. is there any way to remedy this now? think they left it for about 3 days so I should imagine its soaked through to the underlay. its a man fibre carpet and I used a cherry scented chem to the mix but the cherry smell has gone and the bad smell is back!

deodoriser isn't going to do much just hid the smell.
lift carpet, remove and replace the section of underlay that's effected. Treat both sides of the carpet with a sanatiser like Cleansan from prochem.

its a man fibre carpet
therefore your not dealing with female carpet which would need a slap on the @rse.....probably best to treat it with diluted bicarbonate of soda

Personally I would, Enzyme prespray, dwell time, bactericide, put a blower on it.

Kill odour plus from chemspec
Best deodoriser I have come across

Give the bactericide a decent dwell time before drying with a blower. (I would go Formula 429 or Microsan)

Thanks I'll get myself some microsan today from local suppliers

Any sort of enzyme prespray normally gets rid of that smell.
