Title: Varistream HELP!
Post by: H h20 on March 25, 2006, 09:43:24 am
I`ve had the worst week ever  >:( ,my pump started palying up,i found out that it was the pressure switch,so i purchased a varistream, got it set up working fine for the first day,but next day it started building up too much pressure at the end of the hose with the stop connector that fits onto my trigger and i could see the hose buldging and leaking due to the pressure and i`ve got two O rings really tight on it and it still manages to leak, but when i opened the trigger it was like a jet wash then all pressure was lost and it gradually built up pressure again but not as much, then when releasing the trigger pressure built back up again,i`ve tried all the settings inside the varistream using the little blue dial even on low and all the settings on the front dial and theres no joy  >:(, has any body else had this kind of thing happened to their`s  ???, please help im going crack,Gaz

How long have you had it ? sounds like it may be faulty.

I think you must have luck like me.

I would give Williamson a ring and see what they say.

Pig in it.

using a vs will only slow down the pump not stop the pump at the max pressure the pressure swich dose that the pressure switch may be operating slowly thus alowing more pressure in the pipe

Hi Roy,i had put off having a varistream because i saw it as another addon to go wrong, and "oh look"  :o,if there was one and only one ever to go wrong it would be mine  :(,Gaz

I had the very first Varistream sold, and its run perfect. Perhaps in ten more years it will be a collectors item worth £1,000  ;D

Frustrating though, but when you get it going you will wonder how you managed without it.

you shouldn't have the pressure switch conected when you have a varistream maybe that is your problem.

I had a pressure problem. Turning the little dial inside down one click solved it.
Since you have already tried that without success, I can only suggest you phone william's and ask for advice. It may be that the little dial is faulty. Dai

I think it is probably faulty.

Poor Gaz seems to have the only one we have ever supplied or fitted that has had any problems at all :(

It worked fine for a day so it does the job. Will call Williamsons 1st thing on Monday, they are very good with tech advice. If no quick answer another one will be with you on Tues Gaz.

I think if you take the pressure switch off you have to put a blank cover on in it's place,
