Guys
here is proof that after just one day your post can be on page one if you use G+ and tags and are signed in. just as i have said before your prospects and customers will be signed in so they will see the results as well. The second link shows how results will look in the future as lots of tech guys use G+ its more advanced in that area.

Ian when I click on both links I get "This page could not be found"
-
Works for me, nice one Ian.
It's possible to get on the first page of a Google search in at least 4 places simultaneously:
Sponsored Ads (Adwords).
Google places.
Natural listings.
and other directory listings (like Yell).
Don't blink - it'll all change sometime soon...
-
just as i have said before your prospects and customers will be signed in
Why will they?

this is how it works online . 90% of the time
search carpet cleaners for the area you are in ,when a screen shot of the listings appears ,at the bottom left of your screen draw a straight line to the top right everthing on the left will get 90 % of all clicks if your not in it you aint goin a win it

Hi ian,
How are you testing this? A 'normal' google search uses your location to bias the results - this can distort your impression of how well it's working for you. And, if you search too much google notices and cuts the ad out.
I use the Google Analytics 'Ad Preview and Diagnosis' tool these days.
-
Ian, I thought I'd test your theory - it took me less than 4 hours to get on page 1:

I'm not too sure of the value of this though.

Are you privatising your page before you search, I get a page 1 result for my google + on a open search but it I make it private it disappears
You are getting a result as google knows it's you, so shows your page. it does not show to anyone else

Yeah well... Prompted by this thread I've re-visited my G+ profile/listings with the intention of improving them (I'm having a 'marketing day', as the phone's gone a bit quiet this week)...
I have to say, as an ex-IT consultant I haven't a chuffing clue HTF G+ works.
Don't tell me it works like facebook - I get FB.
I'll just mention google pages - anyone...?
-
Mike makes a good point. If you are signed in you're getting results weighted by your search history.
There is a general benefit to having G+ but if it was that easy we would all be doing it and then there would be no advantage. :D

Thursday 07:33 - I did a search from here (Macclesfield) for 'carpet cleaners chelmsford' and found you on page 1, but at the bottom of the page. So it does work.
-
Had you previously looked at that post from same pc?
-
No

Ian.... Mike and Wynne are on the ball because when you post on G+ your browser memorises your post through search history and cookies you have allowed Google to insert and as Google have given your post a url its not inconceivable that their spiders will pick up same in minutes but such a post will only show on the pc you are logged into within your G+ profile. Try the same search incognito and you will not find same...!
Thats also the reason no one else can find your posts because they are only visible to you and you only....!
Seo advantages may come if Google pick up on a post that has been posted publicly On G+ and it may subsequently get indexed in serps and when others are also logged in and search hash tags your post may be visible driving them to your domain but the posts you have alluded too are not as yet in Googles serps index otherwise they will be there for all to see.... We have hundreds of posts on G+ and if it was the case that all were being indexed in serps as you think then we would be above you locally but your status is coming at present from the multiple sites you have linked not Google to date. The consensus among experts is in the near future it will pay dividends having a Google Plus presence as Google are for sure linking back to our respective domains and that will not be a bad thing especially regarding comments and plusses a domain receives that will in due time be taken into account in Googles algorithms that will be reflected in serps.
check out our G+ pofile and anyone reading this thread feel free to join a vibrant G+ community included below where we discuss all these issues and a lot more.....!

Luc,
So is being active on g+ good for SEO purposes in organic searches?
Simon
-
Yes Simon.
If you have loads of "followers" or loads sharing your articles then it can be good. As Ian rightly says, if someone shares your posts, then they are seen by lots of people who may not have seen them otherwise.
Where it gets interesting is if your stuff gets picked up by someone with a huge following. Say you have an interesting weight loss product. If that was shared by say, a fitness guru with a huge following (some have 150,000+ followers), then you could get in front of hundreds of thousands quite quickly.
For SEO purposes, if your G= account links to your website, it is an indication that the site is run by a "real" person and so is more trustworthy. Bear in mind everything is dictated by a software program rather than a person and many will say that G= is open to manipulation.
