Title: vac motors

I'm refurbing an old machine that I've got at my lock up it has 2 x 2 stage vac motors( running through each other ) but one of them is on its way out!

Can I upgrade it so its running 1 x 2 stage and 1 x 3 stage?

Depends on the machine ? Is there room in the caseings ? I upgraded a Stmvak some years ago from 2 stage to three on both botors but diddnt notice that much difference
